Default Nismo wheel bearings = crap

So... My hubby and I have been running the Nismo's on the drag strip lately. We're running on street tires, we're not doing rediculous powerbrake burnouts in the box and are only lightly modded (so it's not like we're pushing mega hp)..
First time we went to the track, we were driving home and he had to pull over because his car was making a chattering noise and it felt like the driveline was going to fall out ... took it to the dealership, needed a wheel bearing (left rear). We figured no big deal they replaced it under warranty.

Last Friday, I went to the track... and sure as **** on the way home my car starts making the same noise, took it to the dealership... needs a wheel bearing (right front)... hmm that's funny. (warranty)

Today my hubby calls me, says his car's making that noise again and the slip light is coming on... took it to the dealership... NEEDS A WHEEL BEARING.. WTF!? (warranty)

So.... my question is, did we just happen to get the only 2 Nismo's that have retarded wheel bearings? ... or is this happening to anyone else?

+1 i would love to do summit point as well. our 06 convertibles didn't have this problem w/ the wheel bearings either and we beat the crap out of them almost every day as well.

this is the first I have heard of any bearing problems so soon.

probably just a bad batch, which is why they are all going out.

I had the same problem. Well, not exactly the same. I never had a noise but probably 30% of the time I was braking under 10mph the whole car would shake violently almost like ABS on crack! lol. Well I took it to the dealership (Sheehey Nissan in Waldorf, MD....because it is the only one remotely close to me) and they said they couldn't feel it the first time, second time I took it up they felt it and said it was the brake rotors that were warped ....but I went along with it. I picked the car up after they resurfaced the rotors and got it back home (hour drive each way) and the car did the exact same thing. Took it back and they said it must be the rear brakes are warped too and needed to be resurfaced. By this time I was very pissed because anyone with any mechanical knowledge would know that there is more bias put on the front brakes then the back and they would not heat up enough to warp just by everyday driving. So I told the guy at the desk he didn't know what he was talking about and I wanted to talk with the manager. The Manager was a cool guy and walked my car through step by step and called me 3 days later and told me it was a left rear wheel bearing. They replaced it and I haven't had a problem since. This was at around 5-6000 miles. I also drag my car now and again at the track. I had a 2006 Base model 350Z and drove the car the same way and had no problems. Sorry for the long story. CLIFF NOTES: My Nismo had bad wheel bearing too lol.

damn... yeah it's like a thud ddd ddd ddd ddd ddd really fast, feels like the driveshaft is going to come apart or something. I could probably excuse one... but 3 in 1 month? come on. LOL ... but i'm kinda glad i'm not alone on that.

7500 miles on mine, not a single problem. 4 road course events, 5 autox events, and 1 night at the drag strip, and no problems.

Only annoying thing I have found so far with my Nismo is if I lightly break when rolling upto a stop light the right front brake squeals. Arrrr

I don't think it is brake dust because it has happened a short distance after having the car washed. I've put up with it so far. It doesn't occur that often.
