I read an article on the viper acr. It,in principle,is the same as the nismo. If you can find the article, check out the downforce on that car, amazing.

The viper's suspension and aero are both fully adjustable; the Nismo's is not. Then again, the Viper ACR is a full blown factory race car, where has the Nismo is a Z with a factory aero kit and minor tuning.

The ACR could be somewhat analogous to a GT3 RS, where as the Nismo's tuning would be closer to the CR's tuning compared to a base s2000.

Remember i said in principle,i am well aware of all these vehicles.it doesn't matter if the viper is adjustible or not(tweaked or not),the downforce principle remains the same.In fact that's how they all get the desired effect.

I'm not a big domestic fan, but I'd buy a viper ACR if I had a ton of spare cash lying around...

It is absolutely worth it! If I have bought a stock Z, I can easily spend 5,6 thousands on quality body kits and paint alone. And I love this kit more than any other on the market right now. The damper and additional welding is priceless. Track time is faster. Got the serial plate (I know its just a number, but it makes me feel special). Being a Nissan fan, I am honor to have a Nismo and really glad that they decided to bring this to the US.

yes but that is what makes it not the same car. There might be other differences too, I've never cared enough to research it

The factory Nismo that we have is also offerend in Japan. Nicer interior, silver wheels, those fender lip/flare thingies, and a smoothed out front bumper. Essentially the same as what we've got. I believe it's also just as limited over there (just no number plaque). The 380RS is the '07 complete car offered only by Nismo dealerships and limited to about 400 or so.

So, the U.S. and Japan are the only ones with factory Nismos (slight differences between ours) and then Japan has the extra, super-fancy one on top of that, but it's not available by Nissan, only Nismo.

I love the Nismos and all, but when I got my non nismo 2007 Z for the price I did at 20800, with 5K on it, I figured I'd be able to make up in the tuning department very fast for lesss money then the cheapest used Nimsos. not hating but like preveously said, where your opinions and priorities are. for the prioce of a used Nismo still looking at low 30K, that gives me 8-10 to play with. so not gettting it to me helped out.

Yep, reason why I spent $38k for my NISMO, because it's handling out weighs the costs. I use mine for track/road course events and no aftermarket suspension will change the way this car handles without doing stuff to the chassis itself.
