Question Nismo slower??

I have seen some websites saying the Nismo is slower in quarter mile then a original 350z, it said it probibly had to do with the extra downforce. Is that true? Can the Nismo even hit a top speed of 160 like a original? It also said that the base 350z pulled off a better skidpad??

its possible because of the added drag, but it probly isnt much more then a 10th if that, besides all the benefits you get to handling and chassis stiffness it'd far outweigh it. Im sure solo will chime in a minute with his vast wealth of nismo knowledge.

The base is not even close on a skidpad. Skinnier tires, no LSD, and on a roadcourse the Nismo will decimate it. At these power levels and trap speeds your 60ft time will make more difference than what the small amount of downforce will take away. These cars only trap 102-105 stock which is not alot relatively speaking so you *might lose 1mph on the back half. Seeing as it has 265 stock tires you should be able to overcome the theoretical loss in trap sped with a sub 2 second 60ft. The weight is probably the biggest concern, I believe the Nismo is about 80lbs heavier than the base. Honestly buying a Nismo, 1/4 times should be the least of the concerns.

I understand the Nismo has amazing handling, but everyday aggresive driving would you notice the difference?(besides the stiffness) I was wondering if you put a 2007 350z base vs a Nismo highway wise would the extra downforce cause a big difference? Would the base pull far off or would the extra downforce be as equal as shifting difference?

Ok well i dont have a nismo Z lol. I'm trying to get one from the auction, i have never seen one in person, and from the auction i don't get to drive it just buy it, i just recently sold my 2006, and i would love to get the Nismo Z. My friend has a 2007 base and i would hate to have a sporter looking Z but lose in straight line performance, without mods that is.

Who the hell cares if it's slower in a straight line? the NISMO Z is made for one thing, road racing. Straight line speed isn't what it was made for.
