Welded base model diff or no?
My question is.. I have a base model...
can i I weld my diff as is or do I need to install an aftermarket VLSD? Please help as I have searched and would like to know the answer with a base model. Can I just weld it or do I need an aftermarket VLSD? All replies are welcomed don’t be Dick’s. Just wondering the cheapest route with the base model. Please don’t include JB weld in comments or you will be flagged.
If if I don’t need a VLSD and can still drift with welded diff or other mods please let me know.
Thanks on advance.

Cheapest? Welded Diff.
Is it worth it? Depends on you. You will wear out tires a lot faster with this mod, and make driving unpredictable while turning or in different weather conditions.
I would prefer to upgrade the LSD as e30 suggested.
