Used 350Z Nismo- should I?
Hey all, so my boring old car is ready to move on and for something more interesting to take it's place. I have my eye on an '08 350Z Nismo with around 10k miles on it. I was wondering what issues, if any, I should specifically look for on this car? I've read all the reviews and have a good idea of what I'm getting for handling, power, interior, etc. Just want to make sure I don't let any major issues slip through the cracks on the test drive/inspection at the dealer.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome- get a mechanical inspection from a technician that you pay for. It's the only way to get a complete and unbiased analysis of a used vehicle. The 07-08 Z is a fine car, but a hands-on review is better than anything we can tell you from behind a keyboard.

Thank you! I will be sure to do that. Seems like the car fits what I'm looking for really well. Fingers crossed it's as clean and mechanically sound as it looks!

I'll say this as a former Nismo (Z33 and Z34) owner.... best Zs made out of the box. Not because I am biased but because I've now owned several 350s and my 370 Nismo with which to compare. (See .sig)
The Nismo ISN'T perfect. (After selling mine to a forum member here, it lost the ubiquitously and notoriously prone-to-failure clutch slave cylinder, and I still feel bad about it.)
But aside from a few niggly points, I do make the proclamation at the top with no compunction whatsoever.
You may ask why I don't have them anymore and why I "only" drive an Enthusiast.... because that's my baby. The others were sold or given away.
If you have a few hours, my tried-to-be-objective "report" on the 350Z Nismo found here:
https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...omparison.html
PS So enamored with the Nismo Zs that I've been hunting for another one in either flavor 33 or 34 but can't really do so until I clear one of the cars out of the garage - read that as: "Coming soon to an auction site near you." But ya, wish it was posted for sale this week.... there's a 33N for sale currently that's got my heart racing.

That's what I like to hear right there! Glad I jumped onto this forum, great information. Looks like all that's left for me is a good thorough inspection and the test drive. Wish me luck!

Yep, I will be doing a long and thorough inspection for sure. This is the car I'm looking at:

Looks good on a screen, hopefully the pics aren't hiding anything.

Yes indeed, I ended up pulling the trigger on it! Was owned by the #2 at that ownership group before it got to me. Checked all the right boxes and was well maintained so I snagged it. Really enjoying it so far.
