Default my nitrous 1/4 mile times

i just got back from the track, i have video and time slips of all the runs, i will try to upload them tomorrow, here is how my night went, this is on a 135 shot (53 N jet and 28 F jet), i have no safety equip, old school just a button, so i play it very carefully, i am adding a nitrous controller and probably use the UTEC for the rpm on and off

bolted on the mickey thompsons 26X8.5s

first run, took off ok, low 1.8 60' then layed my arm on my nitrous button and turned it off when i hit third gear, i was laughing cause i couldnt figure out why the nitrous didnt kick in for 3rd and 4th

12.66 at 106.6

second run dropped the air pressure down to 8 pounds so i wouldnt spin them in first, (never do that again) i have video of all my runs, i actually almost cross into the other lane then i correct it and felt like i almost hit the wall from the tires being so low, going 90+ on 8 pounds isnt smart, it was swaying like crazy after 60 mph, let off and hit the brakes, 12.8 @ 97.7

third and final run, put pressure back to 13 pounds of air, launched good, 1.7 60' spun through first to the rev limiter, i let off the nitrous in first early cause i didnt want to peg the rev limiter, 2nd 3rd and 4th gear fine and ran 12.3 @ 109.6

with the right combo of air pressure and a soon to be added nitrous controller i should be able to hit my goal of 11.9

we will see

It was nice meeting you. Definately a quick car. It would be motivation except my car did so horrible I will probably part it out and take it back to stock. Let me know if you want a basically new UTEC and brand new Nismo cams. They might be up for sale soon.

Wow great E.T but the trap is weak, and not representative of such a large shot. Weird cuz you obviously have sick a$$ midrange but up top its just dying out. Cnngrats though, well driven and best N20 time Ive seen, just weird you only trapped 2mph higher than me NA.What was your A/F on the spray? Overly rich up top?

alberto, its weird cause i cant figure out why my trap was so low, i was actually telling my boy about you trappin 107 NA on the same slicks, i really should be trapping 110 to 112 at least on these slicks, i am 88-90 mph on my 1/8th

i trap 104 to 105NA and usually i got 12 mph faster on nitrous... i really dont get my trap tonight, just crazy, i think just the lack of tire pressure is causing the low trap speed.

i have perfect 12.3 s across the board.. A/F

i also have a 5.1 330ft which is crazy fast to me, i will post up my slips tomorrow, its so hard to figure out nitrous pressure, tire pressure, where to launch, to many variables, i keep trying to figure it out though....

Are you pig rich up top? 88-90mph in the 1/8 is sick, I did 84-85 when I trapped 107. Was your bottle pressure declining under 950psi on your good run? Did you spray all the way through 4th? Did you happen to shift too early into 5th? Regardless VERY impressive times once you figure out the top-end situation, your 11's easy.

I think the low tire psi is hurting you up top

On slicks the mph difference between 8-12lbs is barely anything, fwiw I ran 107mph on slicks at around 13psi....people think slicks is such a big mph killer its not, I trapped higher on slicks thsn I ever did on street tires.

i have too many gauges to watch the whole run, it kinda feels like my nitrous pressure is getting weak towards the top, i am thinking about maybe running two bottles and see what happens, as far as my A/F, it is seriously 12.3 to 12.7 all the way across my rpms, i sprayed all the way across fourth but i had to shift to fifth right to the line and i know that didnt help, my utec that i will have soon will allow me to at least stay in 4th till mid 100 teens i am sure with a 7100 rev limit

on tht run when i hit the nitrous in first it spun all the way to the rev limiter, i let off the button, it kinda bogged and then i shifted, there was a lot of room to make up errors there in that situation....

i will figure it out soon, just will take a little time

8 psi on my slicks had me swaying more than 20 feet back and forth, seriously on my video i hit the middle line and almost hit the wall, i was holding the steering wheel with both hands and could not control it,

at 10 psi it would sway a bit and bounce a lot,

at 13 psi it ran just like street tires would, felt really good, just spun in first with the nitrous, i am thinking 12.5 would be perfect with my situation

If you trapped 109mph even at stock redline you should hit 112mph, so you shouldnt be in 5th. Problem is its a hard gearr to hit, its off to far, and very notchy, so you shifted kinda early and Im sure not as quick as other gears and so that alone could have dropped your mph a good amount. Next time I suggest you try this. Raise your rev limit to 7100rpm's Rev to 7100 in 1st, it goes by quick that will land you at 5200-5400 rpm's in 2nd then shift at stock redline for 2-3 ans 3-4 shifts and fly through the traps in 4th at slightly over stock redline. Guaranteed much higher traps, and no shift to 5th

also i have my nitrous hooked up to a single button switch with no window switch and no WOT switch at all, so its all in me hitting a button, my nitrous button pushin is very very conservative

my utec and a WOT switch will take care of it all...

i was pretty much shifting at 6000 across the board cause thats when i let off the nitrous to be safe, thats why i am saying there is plenty room to improve, i just need to play it safer...

keep us updated on when u do get ur utec and WOT switch. there is absolutly some room for improvement on ur current setup and should be seen once this is completed. 12.3 is still impressive none the less.

i am probably getting my utec tomorrow or the next day from a guy here that just ordered it for his NA car and didnt like it, that alone will help me a lot, higher rev limiter and a window switch for the solenoids, thats without even getting any more power off the tuning, cant wait!!

Good times Audible. Kinda risky running that kit without a WOT switch. Be careful. I'm sure after you get the UTEC, you'll hit 11s no problem. Not sure if UTEC has progressive properties when tuning nitrous, but if it does, run about 50% nitrous in 1st. Wheel spin starts to become a problem when you start making decent power. It may not feel like you're going faster, but your times will improve from less spinning. Plus trying to hit that switch after you hook up and then slam it into 2nd was always alot for me to do all at once - I'm sure the UTEC will fix that! Good Luck!!!

I got it!! i have the utec, i had a dyno run scheduled today to see exactly how much nitrous i am using and solve all these questions to how big a shot my size jets are...

i will post my dyno runs results, i will do one how the car sits, with nitrous and plug in the utec for one run hopefully, i was tuned for a car with similar mods as mine and he said he got 17 to the wheels, i will find out later, then i can start tuning it and see what i can do

later...
