Default Where to hide the purge?

Sup everyone,

Almost have all my stuff for install. Just lacking the PTP fuel tap which should be sitting in my mail box right now.

I plan on hiding all the solynoids and steel braided lines as best I can. Not too sure where to put the purge valve though. I usually mount it close to the firewall and have the tube spray up the windshield. If I did this again, it would certainly blow my cover as a sleeper. Any ideas you guys can suggest for hiding the purge valve is welcome.

I still want to be able to see whats coming out so I know when to stop purging. I was thinking about putting her in the front bumper (not sure how much more steel braided line this would require - 10' maybe). Only other option I could think of that is do-able is maybe hiding it in one of the covers (i.e where the battery is or the other side). Still have to spray it up the windshield, but if you can't see it when I pop the hood, then I have accomplished my mission. Anyhow, all suggestions welcome. Help me out guys!

purge is overrated. i would just hit the nitrous before you do a run and get the lines cleared. it only needs it cleared out the first time and you are good for a while...

Why purge up the windshield? Cant you set the blow tube downward toward the ground, or behind one of the front wheels?

how about putting the purge right on the lower back of the car were the exhaust are. you can purge and rev your engine at the same time so whoever your racing wont hear or see it.

just put it under the car or use a long tube with the purge and it wont make a cloud unless you are on it for a long time....you really dont need a purge tho...i dont run one...pretty much a money waste to me

Gonna hide them under something. I'll have a better idea when I go to install it. Haven't been tinkering under the hood lately, so I have no idea whats in there to block the few of the solynoids. Wire loom to hide the steel braided lines. The purge is probably gonna have to go opposite the battery (forget whats on that side - wiper fluid maybe?). I can stick the small tube up through there without anyone noticing I think. We shall see.

Appreciate all the suggestions guys. Even if I couldn't see it, its good to hear all the possibilities.

If I could get medical grade nitrous, I'd purge it in the cab!!!! hahahahaha.

Well, with a purge...you want it close to the nitrous solynoid so that when you purge, the good nitrous gets as close to the nitrous solynoid as possible. That way you get all the air and dead nitrous out of your line and the good stuff is right there behind the solynoid. Otherwise the purge would not be useful at all. You know?

How about on the sides , close to the rear wheels, on both sides, with a orange color purge led kit. Then you can have flams out the side

Just an idea

isnt a purge meant to protect you? sure it helps a little for better times by giving a clean shot right off the line, but its more so for safety. i think purging in the motor is a big mistake, especially for smaller engines, higher compression engines, and higher hp shots.

the whole point of a purge to clear the lines of built up air so when you ativate the system you get good vaporization of the gas. that prevents the gas from puddling and greatly reduces the risk of a backfire. this becomes even more important with higher shots since higher shots = more fuel being dumped in and good vaporization becomes critical.

this is why you're supposed to maintain a minimum 950psi bottle and have a purge. you'd be suprised how fast air builds up in the lines on a hot summer day.

unless you have a way to shut off the gas seleniod while you "purge" in the engine (which is also very risky since you can run super lean if left on for too long), all you're doing is actually sparying air and a lot of gas in it instead. this is what we're trying to avoid.

unless your at the strip and you're doing runs every few minutes, you really need a good 2-3 second purge to completely clear the lines of all the air. so a quicky into the engine might not be enough.

ok i just realized this whole post was off topic. just stick the purge seleniod right up against the nitrous one. saves on nitrous and having to run more lines.
