Is nitrous even legal in NY
I heard that it is only legal at the track for race use only.

 

Not a dumb question at all. Nitrous is illegal in all states if I'm not mistaken....now that's illegal to USE on the STREET. Having it in your car is not reason enough for a ticket or taking your bottle. They have to suspect you are using it (bottle open or they see you purge n then run).

I've seen some cops take someone's bottle (they got it back) and I've seen cops not blink once when they see it. Depends on the a$$hole I guess.

 

Yeah you probably get ticket in most places for having a bottle unless you get lucky

I cut the bottom of a duffle/gym bag and put it around the bottle.....no one knows its there.

 

im my neighborhood...anything NOT stock is illegal.

 

That sounds about right for NY...haha. You can't fart without getting a ticket there!

 

i dont know if it is illegal in every state. here is my story... once upon a time about a year ago, i was in my G35 sedan, i was simply running a 100 shot on it. my friend was like "hey man, you should bolt on my kazeras with my 265 drag radials and go to the track!!" i said, "hell yeah!!" we bolted them on and headed out to ole bithlo, Speedworld.. On the way we stopped at a light and my friend eric who was with me was like, "Man, i wonder how they hook on the street??" i said "ok, let me do a dead stop full throttle launch at this light!!" i then powerbraked the car adn floored it, hit the nitrous, smoked the old guy next to me in the ford taurus, looked back and there was a cop two cars behind me. "Oh ****!!" i said as i pulled the car back from being nearly locked out sideways. i pulled over and could stop laughin.... it was a Florida State Trooper and he was laughing at me. i told him i was seeing how the drag radials hooked up on the street with a 100 shot. he said, "boy, youre stupid.... you know you gotta heat those things up first!!" then i went to the track and ran some nice 12 second runs....
