Default How much you spraying?

Just wanted to see what shot everyone is running. Saw a thread in G 35 Driver for FI, so i was just wondering how much you pushed it, your HP, 1/4 mile times, and other bolt ons. Is you motor still running strong, is it built, or did it go boom? How often did you use it and how long have you had it? Hopefully we'll see some good numbers.

Thanks for you input!!!

Here are the top N2O times.

It seems that most are running a 100 or a 125 shot. Their are a few running a 150 shot.

im the only auto huh? lol.

if you dont plan on building your bottom end, stick to 100-125 shot with some colder plugs and you'll be fine.

So Sunset what all do you have done to your car? Tune? How long have you been spraying? Does it weaken the motor at all?

Thanks

bought my car in march of 2003, and slapped nitrous on in in august of 2003.

pulley, test pipes, intake, tranny cooler, nx nitrous with all the goodies. heater, opener, dual purge, billet mount and all the gauges (a/f, fuel pressure and nitrous pressure). shot as high as 125 for a short period of time, but dropped down to 100 and kept it there since. 2 step colder plugs, and some mickey thompson et streets to keep it on the ground. the last mod was my torque converter upgrade, but havent tested it on the strip yet. everything else i've done is cosmetic.

thats it. no ecu work, no controllers, no engine work at all aside from the plugs.

motor has 72k miles on it and still no issues (knock on wood). car runs fine. i just need to wash it more often.

i have a video in my sig of my car. video was with a 100 shot and before the tc was done. if i post another slip its going to be a sub 12second run or i wont even bother.

its not very complicated. you just have to be carefull just like with any other type of FI you put on your car.

there are certain guidlines you have to go by when using nitrous to make sure you have years and years of hassle free use without messing something up.

What kind of guidelines? Their a form on it? Do you have a window switch or just push button? Also nice vid... What do you put on there to lock up your front tires to do a burnout or did you just hold the brake? Thanks for all your info really helpful!!!

like dont spray at too low of an rpm. dont spray with low bottle pressure. dont spray unless your at wot. dont bounce off the rev limiter wen ur spraying.

do a search for "CMODS", theres a fuse you need to pull be able to do a standing burnout.

i have a wide open throttle switch mounted right behind my gas peddle. i also have another switch hidden in the shifter that engages and disengages the system inbtween shifts, but its not a must have.

its a wot switch i tweaked and mounted in just the right spot in the shifter (auto), to where its engaged when im in manual mode and disengaged when i shift up or shift down in manual mode. its wired before the wot switch behind the gas pedal so it needs to be activated before the wot switch gets power. not as complicated as it sounds. but i dont like the idea of spraying while the car is shifting and the throttle body isnt open all the way. asking for trouble in the long run imo.

ill take some pics and post them tomorrow.

Sounds interesting....what rpm range are you spraying in? I'm also a little confused about how your spraying at wot but having it not spray during manual shifts. I guess my question is , when your racing why would you not be at wot when shifting?

Very interesting. Not bad of an idea.

CoachK, I think he's saying that he's WOT when racing, but during his manual shifts, his WOT switch power is momentarily cut off as he has fabricated another WOT switch for his auto shift ****.

isnt the wot switch mounted on the TB? and so only engages when the tb is at wot?

thanks

A WOT switch is installed behind the gas pedal. It is a manual on/off switch.

TPS (throttle position sensor) is what you mean. That senses the difference in voltage between the set voltage (user defined/set) and the actual reading on the TB wire. When the difference becomes 0 (or goes above the set voltage), that's when it triggers the solenoids electronically.

I guess its different on a z, drive-by-wire.
thanks for explaining
