Default Colder Plugs for VQHR

Where do you purchase one step colder plugs for the VQ35HR? I have found numerous sites for the DE motor but I know they are not the same plugs. NGK site does not list having a spark plug for the 07-08 z, any information would be helpful.

I just purchased a Zex kit with all the goodies, looking for spark plugs so I can do the install all at the same time.

Thanks!

So stock 370z plugs are 1 step colder for VQ35HR? I would probably have to go through the dealership to purchase them.

Yes. The 370 plugs are a Denso fxe24hr11 and the stock 350 hr plugs are a Denso fxe22hr11. I got them at my local dealer for wholesale which was 8.xx a piece, courtesy sells them for 9.90 a piece. Though for some reason courtesy is listing the 370z plugs as fxe22hr11, the ones I got from my dealer were definitely fxe24hr11.

Great information!! Thanks a lot that will save my quit a bit of money.

Is this a platinum plug? Is that ok for a nitrous application?

I wouldn't run platinums with nitrous, the smaller electrode can cause detonation, it gets much hotter while spraying than it is designed to do and can start to act like a glow plug.

Copper plugs are the best bet for nitrous apps. They are also much cheaper, so if you are really worried just change them more often, still cheaper than a set of platinums and they work better.

The densos are iridium not platinum. I'm almost positive that nobody makes one step colder copper plugs for the hr, or at least no one did when I bought them and when everyone was discussing it a few months ago.

For nitrous application, copper plugs are highly recommended. Iridiums will work, but I'd check those often, especially right after you install your nitrous and test them, just in case. Platinums are a no-no.

370z plugs work great, no problems with idle or when spraying. Il be checking them on my next oil change just to make sure.
