Default nitrous newbie

Okay guys, Like the title says i dont know anything about nitrous. I have read threads trying to find my answer but i cant. I know quite a bit about tuning and alot about turbo cars. Ive just never delt with nitrous, but one of my friends that drags was telling me i should add a dry 50 shot. He said he had everything to do it so i was thinking about buying it, but i wanna keep my car reliable. My question tho is, can i run a 50-75 dry shot with out adding fuel and be safe about it? My friend said it wouldnt be a problem, that people just want to keep adding more and thats when they do damage.

Wet vx Dry kits

Many people ask about wet and dry kits, a dry kit only adds nitrous to the motor and adds in the much needed extra fuel by opening the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator, well with our cars, the fuel pressure regulator is located in the tank in the back of the car. a wet kit should not even be a question when refering to the Z or G, it is a necessity.

Edelbrock is the only dry kit that I know of that works for our cars, here are some threads about it:

The answer to your question is don't run a dry shot. Everything you need to know is in our nitrous section, there are very few original questions that people ask, most of them have been asked already, just takes a few minutes to find the answer. That was just five minutes of searching. Good luck with your build.

if you have enough injector/pump there is no reason why you cant run a dry shot. tuning is no different than tuning for boost.

I am no expert on nitrous either but I read for a while and it seems that wet is the way to go....
What makes you lean toward dry? If you ran a wet I think the majority of people would say you can run a 75-100 shot safely. 1 or 2 step colder plugs and a tune and you should be good.

Run 2 step colder plugs, retard timing a bit and a 50-75 dry shot Is A-O.K!!

^ Do you have any idea what you're talking about or have experience with nitrous, particularly on our cars?

OP, do a search and read, read, read! You need to do get a wet kit, not a dry kit.

I would recommend a wet kit as your best option. If you need any parts or help with the install or tuning please give us a ring - we are in Lexington KY
