Default High mileage Z with NOS kit

So I have been doing some research on this and I am getting very curious and close to buying a Zex kit, only thing is my engine is sitting at 190k miles..
I have never had any problems with the Z except for little things I have changed out like oil pan gasket/valve cover gaskets and that is really all.
I changed my oil every 3k-4k miles. I have read that people with high miles haven't had much of a problem with this but they were around 80k..

So I'm just curious on getting some opinions on this.

Its a 2003 5A/T, only mods I have done is skunk2 dual exhaust, ART pipes, JWT intake and uprev tune.

Also contemplating a vortech... Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Edit - Ah ****, mods please move to Nitrous forums... posted in wrong area

Have you done a compression/ leak down test? I would start there. What kind of shot are you planning on? That's not a crazy amount of miles.

Of course it's all in how you go about it.

Wait, I thought I read kilometers not miles... I would still test to see where you're at.

the motor will take it fine. I got 150k miles spraying a 150 shot. I would worry about the transmission first

Your transmission will probably be hurt form the NOS than the engine, you never now tho. I'd say 50 shot, or 100 shot and take a video so we can see what happens

Those above claiming that a high mileage engine will be able to take a 100 shot.. how do you know?

How often do you spray? What do you do with your Z?

Not everday thats for sure. I do spray about 3-5 complete 1/4 mile sprays a weekend. every other weekend.

The VQ has limits and depending on how much and when (rpm) the motor can take it.

Z or whatever car you have -- VQ is what I meant.

I've drag raced mine every weekend at the strip for 5 years and have been doing track and autox events for the past 2 years. At 145K miles, my engine is old and tired from all the track abuse, daily driving, cross country trips, and enduring both extremes of weather conditions.

I've sprayed for quite a bit during my ownership, but haven't in a while because I was afraid my engine's been abused too much and wouldn't be able to still take 100 whp shot untuned. I've been meaning to go back down to a small shot of nitrous and test it out again but haven't really had the desire to spray anymore.

I have an 07 with 90k miles just rolled over the other day....so far i have popchargers, headers, test pipes, catback, mishimoto rad..other than that pretty much stock tho...

i have 4.08 gears sitting in my bedroom waiting to go in!!

scoring a deal on a zex model specific kit! 680 shipped from a reseller...

anyways, my question as the OP stated is what can I expect to go wrong?

I plan on running a window switch and i probably wont spray above 4th gear...

I've heard spraying in 5th gear has cause motors to blow, any idea why? Is it because there is not enough load on the engine or what?

sorry kinda noob with the spray...always done turboed applications (volvos at that) this is my first N/A car but i love it!!

lot of body roll tho i need sways and better suspension...oem @90k is a little floaty/rolly..

4.08 gears and nitrous = spinning all thru first gear, and probably second too.

To the OP...the only other mod you will need is colder spark plugs. And upgrade the fuel pump if you can. My 03 Z used to lean out in high RPM. Have it tuned soon otherwise leaving it like that can cause engine damage....if you plan on going 100 shot or more. I would say 75 is safe without a tune.
