I got them primarily for autocross.. so I went with the max width I could get in my class; 265 on a 9". I have them slightly stretched on my Miata at 225 on a 15x9, which I hear is optimal for autocross and track time.

A little stretch is fine, but I would put 245's on the 9's with RS3's. The RS3's don't like to be bulged at all.

Let me know about that seat sometime soon. I also may be interested in the 265 RS3s if you get people asking about getting just the wheels.
I have a silver set, 18x10 (+38). You'd need/want spacers, but you could run 275s or 285s (or larger if you wanted) at all 4 corners. I ran a 305 square on them for autox.
I have a black set of 8.5/9.5 (that I use for the street on my green Z - you have seen them on there before), and you can run 265/275-285 tires.
