Haha, glad you enjoyed the gear. Like I said, I'm used to it now, so it feels fun, but I don't remember what it felt like stock anymore. It's always fun to have someone new tell me it definitely feels faster.

Who's go the 'SIDEWAYZ' Z that always parks by the Panera bread on Ford Road? Rob? I thought you had a different vanity plate, but, look like your wheels.

Personally I wouldn't cut your springs to lower ride height (in the back I'm assuming)... instead for the rear of the car you can cut down the black rubber pieces that cradle the rear springs at the top of the spring. I believe the cone shaped rubber pieces on each side are just bolted on.... remove, cut down the base of the rubber cone by your desired height, reinstall.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. It's been a long time coming - finally got 'em.

And thanks for the little drop idea for the rear - When I'm ready I will most likely go this route. Thanks!

and Rob.. I knew it wasn't yours.. but the black/chrome wheels made me ask. I'll find out sooner or later. I go there once a week for lunch.

Let me ask you guys a question - how much danger does a stiffened motor mount pose? Apparently the rear motor mount on my car is a weak point in the design, letting the engine rock and move quite a bit. So a lot of the guys are switching to a dogbone style aluminum mount with a polyurethane bushing. Vibration is felt throughout the car more-so, but apparently you lose less power since it's getting directly to the ground??

Again, this is what i've been reading. But I just wondering what kind of damage or harm this could cause to the car in the long run?

where do you think all vibrations going to go to ? your gear box and cv joints . it be better for acceleration but not for the tranny .

See that's where i'm thinking it may not be such a good idea. The vibration is almost to the degree of a race car, you feel it throughout the entire car, when the revs climb basically it hums throughout. Sounds like you have a loud exhaust when really you don't. It's like you have your hand on the engine.

Granted, the persons car I checked it out on, had a short shifter and shifter bushings, and the car felt great to drive. Shifted extremely smoothly and I actually enjoyed it quite much. However, that's the stuff I'm looking to avoid, is long term damage, since I plan on enjoying this car long term.

the car is still new , just get some nice shocks and springs sway bars will help all that man . i don't like the idea of having solid motormounts it will feels like *** when you accelerates.

I'm not really even worried about the ride really. I'm more concerned with how solid it was to shift! Granted, I think alot of that was the short-shifter and aluminum shifter bushings that made a gigantic difference. I think I may pass on the motor mount.

Thing is, car is new just like you said. I hate to start messing with tranny components and all of a sudden have an issue and get totally denied at the dealer.

I bought mine. With S-plan employee pricing, a fully loaded Grand Touring w/out Nav came out to $25k OTD. GT's start at $25k before taxes.

My gf liked my car so much, she just bought a 2008.5 Mazda CX-7 (which has the same power plant, 2.3l DirectInjection turbo 4cyl).

Ok taking a break from work right now. Here's some quick and dirty pics I snapped this past weekend. And when I say dirty, I mean DIRTY. You can tell all the brake dust on the front wheels compared to the rears lol

New things since you guys last saw:

- Tint
- (4) 18x8.5 Rays Track Wheels with 255/40 Falken Azenis RT-615's
- Titek CF Air Duct (+10hp yo!) Ok not really....maybe like 0.05 hp?

And yes, I know she needs to be dropped......

I'm really contemplating getting one of those Titek ducts. My only problem is I hate how it looks with the 2 ducts for the 07+ Z's(it looks like a nose), and I feel like it's wrong in some way if I only get one duct. But anyways, the car's looking good so far.

Looking good there, Rob. I was considering getting some Track Wheels too. Someone on the forum was selling them for a pretty reasonable price. Black Tint completes the black car

Awesome! Yeah, now is probably a pretty good time to get a nice place. One of my other buddies just closed on a house too and he got a kick *** deal and the place was already furnished too.

Does anyone have any used Potenza RE040 tires? I need 245/45/18.

Also, does anyone have the hook up on auto glass? F'n rocks on the freeway... now I need a new windshield.
