Anyway, just thought I'd see what other Z owners in the Detroit area were up to. I'm still looking for winding roads without potholes the size of my car (a tall order in Michigan) so let me know where some good drives are.
Commerce Rd. going around Orchard Lake. Take Orchard Lk. Rd north to Pontiac Trail and turn left. Go about a mile, and turn right onto Old Orchard Trail. This is a great drive along the shores of Orchard Lk and it takes you to Commerce Rd, where you would make another right. I've done this drive at night, and its amazing. 25-35mph speed limit on Old Orchard, and plenty of cars during the day. Clears up at night. One of my favorite places to drive in SE MI. Many winding turns and million dollar homes.

Here is one

Take 23 north to North Territorial then go west about 8 or 10 miles to Hankered Rd. It only goes north and the road turns into Glen Brook Rd. Both roads are very windy and go right through Pinkney State Rec. Area. The Rd ends near a famous town called H*ll, Michigan.

Lightbulb lookin for twisties

Yeah, the Ultra Yellow was aptly named... but it looks wicked in bright sunlight.

Thanks for the tips on driving roads. I'll probably check them out this weekend if the weather isn't too bad. I still have that d@&n break in period to kill. What's the general feeling on break in? OEMs recommend driving like your grandma but others reason that high cylinder pressures help the rings wear to the cylinder profile better before all the honing marks are smoothed out...

keep it under 4k rpms for a few thousand miles. When i picked mine up, the dealer told me to drive it like I stole it. But, I wanted to pamper her for a bit. I'll tell ya though, its so damn hard to keep it under 4K...it didn't last terribly long. My engine is doin just fiiiiine too. I suppose i gave you very little in the ways of helpful info.

FYI, there are many posts on this topic.

News for you Z guys and gals. I ran across a Media Specialist and he is going to do the club logo in sticker form for our cars. I also had this crazy idea of color matching a clear coat cover like a clear bra, for the head lights,to the different color Z's. Well he has matched the silverstone already and I have a lighter silverstone than what i want on my Z. We are going to color match the rear brakes as well and if that works out he is going to post a sponcership on the web and sell them. I have a light set of silver ones if you would like to see them off the car. They go on really easy and the tint is color fast, shades are from yellow to silver, red, and blue. Working on black is not a problem and the brick should be just as easy. Any one interested?? Will post a picture if it comes out with the look I want it to.!

Picked up the 350 last night! It was so good, I forgot how comfortable it is. Now it's in the garage awaiting plugs, oil, wash/wax, and a good interior detailing. I got to replace the passenger side wastegate gaskets too, which is a real b1tch. And then I need to get the pc in it working cause the hard drive went out on me last fall. So much to do, but it's good to finally have it back!

Update on Stock Size Crank Pulley
The original weight is over 6 lbs and the one I made is 2.004 lbs. Ive been doing various testing to it so far everything is perfect. Throttle response is also good and the rpm's dont drop to dangerous levels when the clutch gets pressed in. I did few rpm tests on the vehicle to see if there were any rpm ranges where vibration occured and none have shown up. I just gota get my vendor license on here set up and i'll be ready to go. First order of 50 should be here mid may. I'm getting the next dyno at godspeed on tuesday so well see what the #'s are. From what I feel i'd say 6rwhp or more. Wasnt too pleased to find out that the z doesnt have self tensioners so it was a pain to figure that out but install wasn't bad. My site is going to have dyno sheets photos and videos and just a description on what it was made out of and what specs. Any other ideas from you guys ? I'm open to suggestions

I take it your Pulley will be named the Aboona Pulley?

I just installed the Stillen Engine Damper and Short Shifter. Took off my Side Splash guards also. Getting ready to install some of the body kit on Sunday.

Ur killin me... I'm dying to go but I'll be out of town for work.

I tried out Hankerd Rd off of North Territorial and it is pretty sweet. Lots of turns and elevation changes. Too bad it's only a mile or so long. Passed by a blue Lotus Elise going the other way... he gave the Z a wave. Anyway, theres a pretty decent collection of roads around that area if other Z owners are tired of driving around on straight roads.

Mike how did the body kit install go? Was a nice to bad it was not a meet day, but I had to work till 5 so I would have been late. The wind will ever let up it will be even nicer and warmer. Going to Novi in the morning and talk to Dan at Godspeed, am going to have him play with some numbers on the hook to the piggy back and see if things can get changed.

jon, you might want to look at what the UR crank pulley weighs. u'd have better luck with sales if yours weighs less then theres. most of the pullies UR sells are less then 1lb, but i think the z's is somewhere in the 1.xx range.

good luck.

Chadi
my pulley will weigh a little more because it will be the stock size. Although UR will be my competition, my market will be for people who don't want to underdrive there accesories, targeting people with upgraded audio/video equipment and FI people who don't want the want to underdrive there alternator or water pump. From what i've read i'm the only one who is making a lightened stock size pulley although ive heard of a few custom made ones.

thanks for the input

mike lol it won't be the aboona series pulley my company is KJR Performance
