Alright, my other car - 2003 Altima needs an Exhaust Manifold and the dealer quoted me $832 incl parts and labor. I checked around and some non-OEM units were $300. What do you guys think? Should I get the OEM $600 part OR get the non-OEM?

The car has 170K miles on it.

 

Non-OEM. The exhaust manifold is what we would affectionally refer to as a "header." I believe your Altima is a 2.4 liter? Should be pretty easy to remove and replace the exhaust manifold with an aftermarket piece.

 

Z is a different story but with Altima I generally tend be hands off and try to get the work done by a shop. I called around (Firestone) and they quoted me $1350 for exhaust manifold and gaskets.

So I decided dealer was better and getting it done there. I am guessing the dealer is charging me 3hrs of labor.

 

Does anyone out there know of someone who is looking to get into a Z? I'm kicking around the idea of selling mine. A car of interest has become available, so I'm in scramble mode to pick it up. I guess I'm also in crazy impulse mode as well so I'm not thinking straight. lol

 

I don't know of anyone that will buy a Z anyway...haha good luck make sure you think it through first
