Hey there everyone. I'm in Germany right now connecting through a crappy pay by the minute connection.
AJ: Dreamcruise sounds good. Are you going in the Z or someone else's ride? I'd like to hook up with folks on that day if possible. I get back on Friday unless the meetings go really well and I decide to leave earlier. It's beautiful here so I might not return early LOL. Is there an Oakos (sp) meet on Saturday too?
Steve: Stupid question, but when you say tight, do you mean on the width or the thickness of the pad. Width-wise, they slide right in. Thickness-wise, you have to push in the brake pistons to get the clearance. Since the front has 4 pistons, I did each in small increments because one will push the others back out. (Hard to explain) Maybe you had the wrong pads? Deepu's pads did not have wear indicators so there was not inner / outer or left / right. By the picture, I see "RR". Is that a right rear pad? The pin hole in the pad backing is so huge that it just looks like the wrong part. Good luck!

Not the thickness. I am aware of having to push the pistons in get the caliper with pads to fit over the rotor.
This tightness is with the width of the pad. It is tight on the outer edge - it hits the metal brackets that are screwed into the caliper... and you have to force the pad in and pry it back out. I know this is wrong, just second guessing myself for the sake of having more people on my side when I return them again.
Thanks for the replies guys.
p.s. - Did you keep an eye on your brake fluid reservoir to make sure it didn't overflow when you pushed your pistons back in?

Ok that's 3 of us so far. I'll email Hal and get a discounted quote. Do we want to get it done before the end of the year (Money and time permitting)? Or wait till next year?

Dedicated track wheels/tires
Guys, I am planning on getting dedicated track wheels so that I can buy used race rubber. At the rate I am burning my current tires I don't think they'll last very long. I don't want to buy another set and spend 1600 again. So, I posted a thread in the wheel section. I checked out Enkei RPF1 in 18" and they seem very nice at 17 lbs. I wanna go 18" all around.
I came across a John Berget Racing Tires who sell used race tires. Anyone have suggestions for race tires? Or any suggestions about wheels?

Deepu you should also look into 17's, tires will be cheaper if you can clear your brakes. But yes, RPF1's in black would be badarss on the black Nismo.
As for tires, I was thinking about the Toyo R888's when I was looking for a dedicated set of track tires.

You should talk to people at the track. I do not have any experience with race tires/slicks. You might want to browse/search/post in the Race section here too for input. Also consider how you are going to get a second set of wheels to the track...

EDIT - Is there a meet this weekend at Oakoas? or something? Anything to get me away from Woodward.

I am going to a track day this Thursday. I will ask around about the stickies. I do not want to go to stickies yet, if I can find cheaper street tires. I do not mind driving another set on track before going to stickies.
I am guessing it doesn't matter what brand it is as long as its cheap and fits my rim, Correct? Well, at least at the moment as I am still a beginner ??

Osiris is on my list, but won't be until next year (probably). got a couple of things in line first:
1) catback exhaust
2) 19" wheels/tires
3) tune (osiris vs. technosquare...not sure which)

I'm going to Toronto this weekend, you can come with me Don't think the gf would mind haha j/k
PM sent to those interested in re-flash. Anybody else wanna get in?
Scott you might as well get the exhaust on and join in on the group deal. IP is a very famous tuner and they use osiris which a lot of FI ppl are starting to use as well.
edit: I wouldn't mind waiting either due to financial reasons lol.

ok. PM me the information once you get it...and if you can wait until early next year (march/april-ish), count me in. i'll have the exhaust on before this year is up.
i have relatives coming in town this w/e - one of the 'problems' of living about a mile and a half from woodward for the dream cruise, lol.
