what are you willing to spend?
don't know where you are shopping, but you need to spend some time an AVSforums and find a reputable dealer.
keep in mind, buying online for a large item can be a pain in the @ss. once they hand off to the shipper and there is damage, it can be a long and painful road to making you whole again. and if you are talking a 500-1000 buck budget, there is no point. No offense, but it doesn't sound like you are a videophile and the panels you are looking at are likely readily available locally. If you need to shop online consider newegg and crutchfield. be very cautious about buying from non-mainstream name venders. Everything from grey market, refurbs, no warranties, to even not getting a full package (not including the stand for example). Always remember you can wheel and deal on a display. I ALWAYS fight for a better price with local vendors. Just ask the guy I buy from at ultimate.
I bought one of my 60" kuros online ONLY because it could not be found locally and I bought two (one for my brother-in-law) and was able to work a pretty decent deal on top of the availability

I'm trying to remember the brands to stick with, and I think the Vizio would be one of them. Sony or Samsung would be the others. I'm not going to spend more than $600 for a 42" if possible. I know the accessories will be the other factor.
You didn't know I was half Jewish? LOL I always try to haggle.

telling you, if that is your budget, buy the panny I linked. You will NOT find a better panel for the money. And for 600, what are you expecting to save buying online? 20 bucks? not worth the headache
Vizio is absolute garbage in that price range. They have a large panel coming out, or is out, that is supposed to be decent, but not for sub 600 bucks
edit:
regardless of what you buy, do not pay extra for 1080 in a 42" panel. You cannot see the difference in a display that small.

Alright, I'll stick with the 720 and look around. That's why I'm asking so I can narrow down what to look for since there's so damn much info. Thanks, guys.

My buddy had a DMC 12, and it was hillarious to drive, so underpowered, but in all honesty the gullwings made it worth while...oh btw, it met its end in a 10mph collision that totalled it out...given their choice of building materials!!! LOL
