what kind of sticks are you buying? composites? I would think one or two sticks would last a season at his age. Heck, I was playing 3-4 nights a week a few yrs back and I never even broke a single one.

I see lots of kids with 2 sticks. Apparently, I was told Brandon's is too small or thin and doesn't have a big enough blade plus it's too flimsy. My point is that we didn't know his style and position. No big deal. I'll get an intermediate flex stick.
you have two sticks in case you break one. which isn't as likely now days as it was in the past.... especially at his age level. One proper fitting stick would likely be enough

Well, I ended up with another stick just in case. We'll see how it goes. If anything, it's good for when he grows taller. I got a new stick that's about 4" taller since I noticed he leans over a lot and seems to lose balance control.
standing upright on his skates the stick shouldn't really be lower than his chin and not higher than his nose.

So they say.
From what I was told, it should be no higher than his chin if on skates. The chin rule is for when he's in shoes. Do you think 4" is going to make a huge deal?

I have my sticks up to my upper lip while on skates. If you are cutting them lower than their chin on skates, they are definitely on the shorter side... shorter than I consider normal. There are always those players that will use a shorter stick, but that is something that your kid will determine for himself as gets further along in his career

Our team won! It was in OT during a shootout (whatever that means).
Brandon is average size, I think. There are kids shorter than him on the team. Brandon is the slowest, but he's only been doing this for 4 weeks. He's very hard on himself.
when the kids are smaller, I think it is better to error on the longer side. 4" is a lot considering the size of these kids.

This year I was kind of disappointed as far as black Friday deals go. There was really nothing that I found that I was like damn I need to get that. I don't need anymore TV's (55" Sony LCD in living room, 20" Samsung LCD in kitchen, 40" Sony LCD in bedroom) I guess I could've gotten one for the garage but I'll just stick with my 27" Tube for now. I was hoping Gander Mtn or Cabelas were going to have some good deals but that was a disappointment. Even tho I heard that black Friday sales where up to me it seemed far less great deals.
I think the midnight opening is vastly superior to the 3-5 am openings in yrs past. IMHO this opens up the day for the less than die hard shoppers to get a few things.
I haven't been black friday shopping since about '04 where I went and bought a flat panel for my in-laws. This yr was my best black friday in years though. My pre-order galaxy nexus showed up at 10 am.
make sure you buy brand new diff bearings for the diff. Don't reuse the old ones. If you need the new ones pressed on I have a press here you can use.http://www.courtesyparts.com/38440-b...tml?cPath=714&
You will need to buy 2 of them.
