Anyone interested in doing the auto X at with CCM on May 30th?

NEXT EVENT

Who: MotorCity BMW CCA
When: Friday, June 18th
Where: Waterford Hills
Cost: $173 (includes 1 yr BMW CCA membership and free t-shirt

I'd like everyone to try to make it to this event because the chief instructor and several other instructors are co-workers and good friends of mine and I'd like to help them out. Plus I can make sure you'll get good instructors

Plus if you plan on doing the 2 day grattan event in September, it will be cheaper with the BMWCCA Membership you'll get from this event.

So, is this comparable to the PCA HPDE event? classroom, ride-along, and some solo sessions 2nd half of the day?

Or more open-track day like 3balls?

Just curious.. when it comes to Waterford I'm fine with just an OTD - but good instruction is never a bad thing!

The timing of the event is better (for me) than the June PCA.. same week as Gingerman. I need a little more time between events.

In case you guys are wondering, Mid-Ohio was a blast. If you track your car - you have to attend a lapping day at Mid-Ohio. I am not sure what else to say - it truly was amazing. Makes Gingerman look like child's play.

I totally agree. I was scared like a chicken for the better part of the day. But then again, I took a ride along with Lee and then he came in my car for another session and BAM! The final session I had a lot more fun and I am now itching to go back to Mid-Ohio.

I definitely owe you a beer or two Lee, thanks!

For some reason I need someone to show me the way around. I just cannot figure out things on my own yet

They were running the "club course" with the Chicane - it took me one session to figure out that I could go flat out into the right hander, but I had to brake going into the left hander. I kept saying that I had more brakes than *****...but by the last session, I felt like I was really pushing it. I want to go back. Its too bad there is no direct way to get there.

I am registered and paid for my next event at Waterford on July 10th. I am not sure if I will be able to attend the others as they are on weekdays. I don't have enough vacation left.

Rob, I see that you haven't yet paid for the Mid-Ohio event with NASA in July. Let me know if you are positive that you will attend this event? Because I might want to go if you go. I do not mind sharing accommodation with you. It might be a good event as it is 2 days in a row.

Might need an extra set of pads just in case .....

How are NASA groups laid out Is HPDE1 the fastest or is it HPDE4?
Looks like I will also need to get a membership with NASA to be able to register for an HPDE with them? How much is the membership?

Yeah
It takes some getting used to to lift/stay in it for the lefty....

I figured they would do that to slow you down...
sometimes they will keep it open and man you are ON the brakes after that straight..wow really kills them BADLY.

Glad you all had fun and were safe
I have to get out there one of these times dang it!

I'm not sure if I can make that or not. I have a baseball game that night and I actually have a ticket for my girlfriend as well.

I see that GLLC has an HPDE at Gingerman early that week too. I guess I need to start making decisions. I'm ready to drive again!

hpde4 is the fastest group. sometimes they even run that group with time trials.

You will need a membership but its onnly $50 and it includes a years subscription to Grassroots magazine. How can you go wrong??

Also, as far as accomodations, if you're the camping type there is camping at mid-ohio. Lotta fun talking to everyone and its no charge.

Deepu I haven't signed up for Mid-O yet. But yes I plan to go to the one July 23-25th. And like Sektor said, NASA membership is like $50, but that also gets you a subscription to grassroots which is an awesome magazine.

I'll probably sign up for Sat/Sun. ($360 ouch!)

I love mid! it took me a weekend out there to grow the ***** to push through a few turns... But the last event I went to was with northern Ohio BMW and we were allowed as advanced class and instructors to go on Friday. It was an extra $110... I ran numerous of hour straight stints that day. The longest ive ever ran straight was an hour and 15 which on midohio was incredible feeling!

Such a fun crazy course.... It's extremely looooooooooong on the back straight with the NA exige. But still a lot of fun!

I just realized it's too late to register for the 6/7 event with CGI at Gingerman and I can't make the BMW CCA day on 6/18.

I think I'll sign up for the 6/10 SEMPCA/Waterford HPDE. Anyone else interested in coming to that one? It's either that one or Gingerman on the 21st.
