Lexington sounds OK but I think we should meet a litte further North. (Like Florence, KY) There is a rest stop just South of Florence that has a huge parking lot. This is convenient for anyone headed south on I75 to meet at. Plus it's about the halfway mark for us.
We can still stop in Lexington for lunch if you like. Lex is a pretty busy area and I try to avoid spots where the caravan may get caught at a light and seperated.
I'm not against packing some kind of meal and doing lunch at the rest stop. The less time we spend off the road, the faster we get there.
We definately want to meet up with other caravans and flood the road with Z's and G's. It should make for some awesome videos and photos.

Yeah - The St. Louis guys on the "the forum" were going to meet up with us. They'll be coming down I-64 so that's why Lexington looked like a good spot. And I think SmoothZ will join us there as well (waiting on conf. form him).
I'll hook up with you guys coming down form Michigan as you come through Dayton. I assume you'll be taking I-75, correct?

Awesome! Sounds good. We'll coordinate that closer to the date. The best plan, if it's just you or a couple folks, is to exchange phone numbers and plan on merging at a specific enterance ramp. We'd call as we approach the exit number. Either that or meet at a rest stop in the area. We'll be down to 1/3 tank by Dayton and we can push it to Cincy before refueling.
It'll probably be just me in Dayton. So that sounds great.

We have planned the route to meet some people in St Louis. We'll probably spend the night there before heading out early Thursday morning.

Bump - I know there are some Michigan folks who have not listed themselves here.
Pulpz2, The Ohio group is usually huge. When are they headed down?

I'm not sure. I sent PerfZ a PM and he said he would spread the word in ZROC. I need to check cincystreetscene to see if anyone in the Cincy area wants to join.

Phreakdout has suggested two routes that we should consider, the first takes us through Pigeon Forge, a slow, stop and go drive, but shorter route. The second sticks to freeway, but is a longer route.
Route 1: (Slow, Stop and Go , Shorter)
1) I-75 South to I-275
2) US-441 S (through Pigeon Forge Gatlinburg)
3) I-74 W
4) NC 28 N.
Route 2: (Fast, Freeway, Longer)
1) I-75 South to I-275 / I-40 East.
2) I-40 East
3) Take Exit 27 - This leads onto 74 West.
4) Take 74 West
5) 74 West to 28 North which leads to the Fontana Village Resort.
What is everyone's preference?

What is the difference in miles/time between both the routes? Driving through Pigeon Forge can be a pain in the a$$. There's just too much traffic in there and we will easily be split.
As long as the difference is not too much I would vote for option 2.
