Like most people, I have Monday, July 5th off. (Also tuesday for that matter but it's supposed to rain then) Monday is supposed to be in the 90's so I'll also suggest some indoor events we can do.
Meet place: Exit 183 on I-94.
There is a car park on the South side of the interstate.
Going Westbound on I94: Get off at Exit 183 Whittaker / Huron Road.
Turn left. After next light you will immediately see a car park on the left side. Opposite from McDonalds.
Meet time: 12:30 pm - Leave by 12:45 and roll together into Depot town. Hopefully we can street park together in the center of Depot Town.
If we miss anyone, meet at the museum or Aubrey's
For anyone who shows up late, Get off at Exit 183 and turn North. (This puts you on Huron River) Turn Right (East) on Cross Street. Just across the railroad tracks on the right is the museum.

Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum (Ypsilanti) It was originally the last Hudson dealership in existance. The parts counter there looks as it did when they closed. For a small museum, they have some very rare cars. A Hudson Hornet NASCAR. A '54 Kaiser Darrin sports car which had doors that slide forward into the front fenders. One of 435 built. A Tucker movie prop car along with lots of original Tucker parts and historic pieces. (Preston Tucker's house in Ypsilanti is just around the corner from the museum)
$4 admission.

I want to go but I am tentative.
We are still on the fence about going to Mackinac Island for this long weekend. We waited too long and the only available accommodation on the island is about $300 each night and I am not sure if we should spend that much. "Grass is always greener on the far side"
Since Mackinac is local it feels like its too much money.
All the story aside, if we don't go there I am in for Monday.
My choice in order of preference - 2, 3, 1

Hmm I have to talk to my scheduling advisor (Jess HAHAH)...
I would love to do teh Ypsi one I have never been
I have been to the Chrysler museum if you have NOT been you have to go.
It really is quite BA....
The basement is AMAZING stuff...
Also if its going to be in the 90's cruising Woodward a bit could be fun as well..
A bit more low key and everyone has off, so there will be a ton of cars cruising. People are starting to get the cars out for the Dream Cruise so.....

It's OK to show up in a rental.
Depends on what we do. So far, it looks like the Ypsi Museum. This is located in Depot Town in Ypsilanti.
Boo! LOL - Just kidding. You wil like it up there. Are you staying in the Grand Hotel? It's supposed to be very nice. Get a two seater bike and take the wife around the island for a ride. Maybe there are carraiges that can take you around too. There are some rental houses / cabins on the island. Google to find them. Might be cheaper than $300 per night but you need transportation to and from the town. Don't make your pregnant wife walk 4-5 miles to get to town.
I'd thought about Mackinaw as a fall fun run. Think about it on your way up. The only thing I wouldn't like is leaving my Z on the mainland to stay in Mackinaw. Kind of defeats the purpose of a fun run.

Let's go for the Ypsilanti Heritage Musuem.
Afterwards, we can grab a beer at Aubrey's. (Right across the street.) If you want to shoot pool, Sticks is upstairs from Aubrey's.
I'm not sure how late the museum is open on the 5th, but we should be down there around 2:30-3:00. If not at the museum, try Aubrey's. I'll pm my ph # later.

It appears evveryone is a bit smarter than I am. Turns out the museum was closed. Most everyone must have known that as only AJ showed up. LOL
That's OK. We peaked through the musuem windows and headed straight over to Aubree's for a couple of beers and some pizza.
We'll give this another try in the future.

Uh-oh, what a bummer.
We had a lot of fun at the Mackinac Island, we came back at around 7 to find out that there was no power and it had been out since the noon. We went out for dinner and came to check on the house and DTE just finished fixing the issue
