Default Z and G Gathering in CT, 9/3

Friday, September 3rd, 2004
5:30 p.m
Tri-City Plaza, Vernon, Connecticut
(At the intersection of Route 30 and Route 83)

We are piggy-backing with the Tri-Town Cruzers Car Show which is held every Friday night of the season. We plan on meeting up alongside this car show and discussing the upcoming Connecticut Z 'n' G meet this fall. Come join us....show off your Z or G! The car show goes until 9pm. Look for the Z's just outside of the car show parking area. Let us know if you will be joining us so we can have an idea of how many spaces we will need for parking.

I will get you directions if you need them, just let me know where you're coming from.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Stacey,
I should be able to make it. Do you have anyone else on the list yet? What side of the lot will you be parking, near Adams or Ames?

The car show is on the Adam's side..I'm hoping we can all park there, on the outskirts of the car show. If not, then there's plenty of room over by the Ames side. Glad you can make it!

You too Gerald.

That's 3 of us so far!

If I do go it will be late as my son has baseball practice until around 7:00 PM and then I would have to go back home and get my car. I would probably get there around 8:00 PM.

Please let me know directions from Middletown.

Get onto 84East (which I believe from Middletown, you would take Route 9 to 91North, go over the bridge to get to 84 East.) Take exit 64 off of I-84 (it's a double exit), and stay left off the exit. Make a left at the light at the end of the exit onto Rte.83. At your very next light, make a right into Tri-City Plaza (you will see Denny's & a shopping plaza). The car show is to your left. Hopefully you will see us there at one end of the show.
Hope you can make it.

Hi Guys,
If I'm coming down from the Worcester area, would I also take exit 64 and follow the directions above? Thanks in advance.

Hi DJ.....
Vic said you would be coming....looking forward to meeting you.
Yes, you would take 84West to exit 64..make a right onto Kelly Road, and on your left, you will see a strip mall with where the car show will be. You should see us, not exactly sure where we are parking yet...but, we will be right near the car show (hopefully towards the entrance of the parking lot). If you want to mapquest it, type in "346 Kelly Road" for a restaurant across the street from Tri-City Plaza where the car show is.
See you tomorrow night!

I haven't heard anything from the other MA folks yet. At this point, it looks like I'll probably be getting there sometime around 6 PM (if not sooner). I've got some school stuff that I need to take care of tomorrow afternoon, so I'm shooting for a 5 PM departure time.

Thumbs up

Stacey thanks for having me at your Friday night bash; a pity I could not make it earlier, as there were an abundance of interesting and nostalgic cars to be seen.

It was great that we had the opportunity to meet up with friends.

Stacey, in the short time that you've been with us, you've made quite an impact with the group.

Have a fun and safe weekend. Talk to you soon.

Totally agree with Geralds comment.

BTW, looks like the date we are shooting the meet would be Saturday, October 23rd.

Thank you guys, so much... that means a lot to me. I'm just happy that you welcomed me in...you are all so great and it's so nice to be a part of your group. Can't thank you enough!

I will hopefully find out this week about the lot in Vernon. Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend, too. It was nice seeing everyone.....the Z's got a lot of looks!

You're quite welcome....seeing all those classic rides was well worth the trip. Be sure to tell your dad he's got the most beautiful vintage Corvette I've ever seen

Stacey, Thanks for getting eveyone to meet Friday night. I've gone by that meet a number of times but never stopped. It was great to get a chance to do so and to meet up with everyone. I may go next week to see if I can sell some of my vintage '57 Chevy parts that have been collecting dust in my basement for such a long time!

If you can get the parking lot, PM me so we can come up with a cruise route. I was thinking maybe up 83 towards Ellington, what do you think?

Any pics of the event?

Sorry I couldn't be there. It would have taken me forever to get down there, especially in rush hour traffic on a Friday night.

No pics from me, unfortunately.....Got onto I-84, happened to look at my passenger seat, and immediately realized I forgot my camera. Which is a shame, beacuase there was at least 30 examples of photo-worthy rides. I might have to drop by there again with my camera before the season ends.

I think 83 would be a good route to travel...I am hoping to talk to someone about the lot this week to see what's involved.

You should definitely go to the show and try to sell those parts! It's full of people who are looking. Maybe I'll see you there again before the season's done..
And as for pictures, ask Vic....his son may have taken some.
