I'm not sure if the S4 would be fair..being AWD and all. (at least if it rains). (Although she is rather heavy)

No, I plan on bringing the NSX...new clutch/gears/headers/rear end should make it a little more autox friendly. Maybe I'll actually shift out of 1st gear this time.

The Audi has really crappy tires on it anyhow...I'm just waiting for them to get a little more bald before I switch for winter. If it's raining I'll probably change my mind and bring the Audi, but the forecast calls for sun.

Ok, I just signed up and paid for the Novice PM session. Good to see some familiar forum & BEAC member names on that signup list, too.

This will be the first time I'll ever attend an actual event. Do you find out the course layout in advance, or just when you get there that day?

Oh, and will there be a BEAC practice on Saturday then?

There's a "cone heads practice" that Saturday - they'll run the course in reverse. It's put on by WW and the procedes goto fund the annual awards banquet. I'm not sure what the cost is...I'd assume it's less than Sunday, but could be wrong.

With so many of your guys running PM, I might have to double dip and run both AM and PM...

Peter: Yes, run PM! Is there anybody that we know of actually attending the coneheads practice?

So where are the other guys that expressed interest in coming? Is it really just going to be the 3 of us, as usual?

Oh yeah baby, I'm bringing all 17 years of old Japanese technology to whoop some butt on your new "HR" motor!

BTW- I read that the new HR motor only shares about 20% with the old VQ. So who's got cards up their sleeves???

I just wish I had gotten around to my bilsteins....I am running my new baffled oil pan tho, so look out.

So how much time are you going to give me? I'm down .5liters and like 16 years on ya. I also haven't raced since last year!!!

^ What??? new engine??? nahhhhh.... Nissan did a fair job of balancing the additional power w/ 120lbs more weight. If you ever though the Z was a boat of a sports car, it's a battleship now.

But since you asked nicely, I'll spot ya 0.01 seconds. That's more than generous enough considering your driving a super car.

I've seen the course map. It'll be a deviation of an existing course that some of your guys may have seen before. Hopefully they won't mess w/ it much since to slow it down cuz I need to make sure I hit 70+ mph to make use of that revised redline.

Alright! I'm kick'n butt and tak'n names!! Who wants some of this?!?! SPARTA!!!!!!

What's the redline in those cars up to now??

And why is there a bulge on the hood? Anything could be hiding in there!

It's up to 7500 rpm now. It felt kind strange at first taking it up over 7k, it took some concious effort since I was so use to the 6700 limit on my '03. But it does seem to pull harder after 5500 than I recall in my '03. Unfortuantely Nissan didn't change the final drive so 2nd gear is toping out at about 72 mph. Good for autoX in places like Bremerton and Packwood, bad for Everett.

I think most people believe that the bulge in the hood is to clear the new plenum design, but I've checked it out and it looks like there's a lot of free room under there. I think it's only there for asthetics. Or maybe it's factory provisions for supercharging?

...with the likelihood of rain, I kind hope they slow it down a bit...I'd hate to see anyone hit a light pole

^ lol.... for the record, that wasn't the rain that did it. It was his over exuberance w/ the throttle. And it was only slightly damp at the time.

I bet it is just for aesthetics. Make you think there's a "bigger" motor under there.

Who hit a lightpole?

^ Last year, one of the BEAC guys (who will remain nameless) put his S2K into the biggest concrete lamp post base on the lot. Didn't phase the lampost at all but his car was a different story, both him and his passenger were okay. It's been a memorable point of discussion ever since.
