Default Opinion & recommendation for suspension install/parts?

hi all, i am relatively new in seattle and the Z

i am finalizing my thoughts on suspension setup for my 08 z coupe,
and i have some questions.

currently, i would like to goto cobb springs since they were designed with revised shocks and so, stock shocks can be used; also, i believe the drop is nice for dd. (not too low and removes the wheel gap a bit)

first question would be the need for camber. (3/4" front 15/16" rear drop is advertised) i would like to avoid it if possible, but am willing to get it to prevent unnormal tireware.

secondly,
anybody/shop that is recommended for installation at decent price?
preferably near bellevue area.

thanks in advance for any inputs.

You'll probably be fine without a camber kit. I dropped mine probably about 1" up front and 1-1/2" in the rear and I'm not running a camber kit. My front wheels are within factory spec and my rears are slighty out of spec with 1.75 degrees. But I wanted a little bit more camber in the rear and everything I've read on the boards says that tire wear doesn't really show up until north of 2 degrees.

With that being said, each car is different. So you may end up needing a kit for the rears, but you're most likely going to be fine.

I installed my suspension myself. It's really not difficult to do and there are instructions here and on 350z tech how to do it, including torque specs. But if you rather pay someone to do it, a lot of people like World One Performance in Kent. I've personally never had work done by them, but I know people that have. They're a sponsor on this site, so you could just pm them for a quote.

My friend lives in Woodinville and he put my suspension on. but like pacfwu said it pretty easy if you have tool and a spring compressor.

As always I'd recommend a couple of my buddies that are ASE certified Toyota master techs. They can do anything, and have access to a couple private shops with lift and everything. They've now done a Vortech 350Z, 2 Vortech G35's, 2 Stillen S/C G35's, and even offered warranties on those installs. Of course they can also handle any suspension, brake, and exhaust related work. They do alot of these sidejobs for way less than the dealership or a normal shop.

Buy the rear camber bolts if you plan on running wide rear tires. I went from 1.7 degrees down to 1.4 degrees and almost doubled my straight line traction and still the car has mild under-steer at the limits. Almost any of the guys can install suspension. The alignment is best left to the highly recommended shops, DON"T JUST LET ANYONE ALIGN YOUR CAR.
I can install the suspension in under 4 hours with no lift, just jack and jack stands.

Thumbs up

If your going to take it apart anyway do it right, put the toe and camber kits in the rear . You'll save time and money when you want them later.

Thanks for an advice.
So, I don't plan on changing the wheels and
decided on taking my chances without a camber kit.

Any recommended alignment place?

I hope I could change mine. I don't have tools and i am scared if i will do anything wrong

If you go through one of my buddies, as we discussed, he can prob take care of that too for pretty cheap. Just let me know when you are ready to go, and I'll put you in direct contact with one of them.

stage performance in kirkland has a brand new alignment machine, and aligned mine after my springs. They are pretty cheap too. Only like 60 or 70 bucks...

**I've got JIC rear adjustable camber arms for sale...PM if you're interested.

Also, Velocity-8 has always done a decent job for a good price...and they tend to be more available than some other shops. They're located in Lynnwood.
