Yeah, it is probably gas cap has a problem. Happened in my other car, not worried. Just means I gotta take it in.

Ah yes, that is probably why my Engine light is on; it is trying to warn my that my tires are almost dead.

So I took it to Nissan of the Eastside, they did their diagnosis and said the Engine light came on due to the evaporator had a tubing leak because it was moved (due to Greddy Evo 2) and who did it apparently did a bad job because moving the evaporator is satanic or something (bitching because I didn't hire them); but they could make it right and fix it for me.

So I said, okay... then they said since they didn't install the exhaust, it is going to cost me $300 to fix the tubing. I said hell noes. They charged me $150 for the bloody diagnosis. Took it to CarNutz, lifted the car, the tubing was fine. Popped the battery for 10 min, plugged it back in and the light has been off ever since.

Nissan wanted $300 to pop the battery; the evaporator may have had a small leak for a sec, enough to pop the alarm; but other than that it was fine. I can't believe it.... $300.

Did they tell you the code that was set ,if it was a evap leak, that means there was a leak in the evap system [fuel vapor recovery to prevent raw fuel vapors from going to atmosphere] that is the same code set by a loose gas cap. placement of the evap canister is not an issue as long as there are no leaks. If the light comes back on I would be willing to help you with it I am an ASE master tech and have angood scanner to check it with. The light cant be reset by disconecting the battery, but will reset on its own once the problem is not there for a couple of self tests.
