Actually putting on OEM 2005 on a 2003. Basically to get the revised suspension. Didn't want to go aftermarket as I don't want to drop it any, I can barely get in my driveway as is. What I have found on the changes:
There are two different suspension's on the 350Z. Nissan did a running change mid way into the 2004 model year. We refer to 03/04 car's that don't have the changes as "unrevised". And we refer to 04,5+ car's as having the "revised" suspension.
The 2004.5 has stiffer front sway bar (17%).
The rear spring rates are 427 lbs, vs. the old spring rates of 342 lbs. for the rear.
The most significant change in the revision is what Nissan did to the tuning of the shocks. They reduced their compression dampening (stiffness on bump) and increased the rebound control (rate of return from bump) So, a 03/04 car will feel stiffer vs a 04.5 car, but the 04.5+ car will have little to none of the 03/04 car's famous bounce and porpoising issues.
