There's supposed to be events up at golden gate park in the city every month. I'll look into it more and let you know. I've been goin to some empty parking lots now that's raining, but I always get ran out by someone, or leave shortly after because I'm too paranoid that the cops might be watchin me lol.

events like this are in parking lots
which is a great way to learn.
less chance of destroying car.
just don't be stupid and try to be a hero..
ie..
if you are way off the cone course and you keep flooring it ultimately hitting a light pole (true story)
hehehe

Total beginner in this sport - I was reading the rules and regulations on the Drift site and it says bring extra set of tires... does that mean you have to have extra set of tires and wheels or do they provide tire mounting at these events? Can someone explain how these events are organized? If I have time, I'll be there to check it out this end of January..
