everytime I've gone, my instructor has asked me what I wanted to learn or work on...the first time I just said I wanted to go fast! Last time when I went with the Z, I was able to get a very good feel for how it acts on the limits - there's not many times on the road that you get to just concentrate on the dynamics of the car without thinking about pedestrians, other cars, or cops. Thunderhill has a good variety of turns (off-camber, high speed, sharp turns...) that should give you different situations and show you how the car handles each one differently.
Jon, I know you've done some of Doc wong's driving events; those will come in very usefull!

I'm already doing 2 full weekends in April. Too much beating on the Z. Unless someone want's to give me their keys..
have fun guys.
let me know how those raybestos st-41's work out. I'm still on my st-43's after countless days of fun.

Guess it would depend on how hard you push it. I've seen folks out on 19's before and didn't notice them having any problems. Just seems like an expensive route to go though if you do it regularly. Did you sell your stockers already? I used to run the stock touring 18's with different rubber for a while until I bought my track dedicated 17's. Perhaps you can borrow smoeone else's stock wheels and tires for the day?

just calculate the 33% off on your own...there's an option if you have a coupon or something else; if you have any other problems, I'd email Dave Mills, dave@ncracing.org . He usually repsonds within a day.
Previously you needed a referral code from a current member. Just note it in your registration. I'd give you the code I was using but you should get it from a local current memeber since it gets them $50.00 off an event.

Hi guys,
Dave Mills here, from NCRC. I thought I'd pop in to say "hi" and answer any questions you might have about our events. Looks like most of them are covered, but I thought I'd address the convertible one since it could cause issues. The convertible rules are defined by each individual club, not by the track. So if you're going to various events, you do need to check with the event organizer to make sure you meet their rules. In our case, you need roll-over protection that is above your head (we use the term "broomstick test" as if you layed a stick from the roll hoop/bar to the top of the window) while wearing a helmet. If you pass that test, whether it's with factory hoops or an aftermarket bar, then you're fine to run with us. The only caveat here is that if you need an instructor, I need you to contact me because I may not have an instructor short enough to pass the test in your car.
Other than that, it looks like folks know about the 33% price, and yes you can use PayPal with that button that says "coupon/credit" or of course if you're paying via check, just send the right amount.
And feel free to drop me a note at dave@ncracing.org if you have any questions - I'll try to pop over here periodically and see if I can be of any help.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave- Thanks for stopping by and clarifying. I emailed you last week about the 33% discount and how to pay. I still plan on attending- just waiting for my commission check this week and I'll Paypal the money over.

I just remembered that when I was at the track w/ my miata with aftermarket rims, the nuts would start to loosen up a bit - after every session I'd have to re-torque them (they'd loosen about 5-10 ft-lbs) ...but these were 17" w/ 4 bolt. (I think part of it was the softer metal of the rim and maybe something with vibration resonence)
*that's just one thing you might want to check if you go.
