Question Reputable Shop?

I've only been up here in the bay area for about 1 1/2 years so I don't yet have a local reputable shop. If any of you guys (or girls)know a good shop you have experience with and can recommend it would be appreciated. Name, area and web site (if any).

Thanks guys.

Pasha,

Thanks for the reference. But do they do installs- suspension, engine etc? Looks like an auto body shop (which will also be very useful). Any suggestions on a place to do installs? Sorry should have been more specific on the type of shop.

Again thanks for the reference.

a good site would be zonc.org. ('Z Owners of Northern California'). Mainly pre 350s but that might be a good place to start. I have met guys who work in Z specialty shops on the peninsula near you. I'll ask around and then post later if I come up with anyone.

Thanks jackwhale- I looked them up on yellowpages.com. Looks like there is a Scott Performance in Santa Clara off De La Cruz- I'll check them out. Appreciate your reference.

failsaf3: Let me know what you find out.

My info about Scotts is derived from:
A fellow named Rob has two very tricked out Datsuns (510 and 240Z) SR20 turbo upgrade on the 510 which is very well done with superb workmanship. I also have talked with someone from Scotts at a ZONC gathering and he was very hyped up about Datsun/Nissan and seemed very knowledgeable.

failsaf3, yes it is my family's shop. You may call (650) 952-5303 and state that you are from 350Z forum, so you can get a discount. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hey, Pasha, thanks for the recommendation. I just had my car fixed from Fivestar. Is Boris your dad? He was really nice and hooked me up like you said. Thanks a lot. I highly recommend Fivestar.

Is Scott Performance going out of business? Someone on another forum said they were closing their shop?

Care to substantiate that with a source?

A guy I know is looking for shop space and the realtor told him about a shop that was coming available with an in-ground dyno on Lafayette in San Jose.

There are only two shops I know of with dyno's on Lafayette in San Jose and one is an above ground.

The only shop I know of on Lafayette with an in-ground dyno is SP.

I wouldn't call that substantiation, but it's a source.

Does anyone know for sure?

I was thinking of doing a Vortech on my Z and I know they've done several so I was talking about it when I ran into this.

^ SP is in Santa Clara. It is off of Lafayette though.
