It ain't no fancy shmancy tiny whole in the wall place by any stretch but I think the best burger I ever had in 39 years was a Chili's smokehouse bacon triple cheese burger.
Damn the bacon is thick.

I'm beginning to think I'm the only on here who likes to eat! LOL!
New addition:
Hilton Hotel in Fairfield, ca. I-80 at Travis exit. Had a great reuben for lunch; even better ribs and schrimp dishes for dinner. About 20 bucks for lunch for two; $50 for dinner. Very nice atmosphere with lots of light. Your girl will like it.
PS: "smokehouse bacon triple cheese burger."... Chad. Does it come with a coupon for by-pass surgery?

This Pie place in Sebastapol (North of town on hwy 116) is almost like a local landmark. They are known around the North Bay and beyond. I ordered one of their apple pies for christmas one year and you had to place your order like a week in advance but they sell pie by the slice too if you just walk in.
I've never tried their sandwiches though but damn it's making me hungry right now.

Joe's Cable Car: 4320 Mission St at Silver, San Francisco, CA 94112; Quite possibly the best burgers I've had in my life so far. But it comes at a cost you can be looking at $20 per person. joescablecarrestaurant.com/
Sushi House: 2375 Shoreline Drive, Alameda, CA 94501; Very popular and well known in the Bay Area. Large portions and very special rolls. Try avoiding Lunch and Dinner hours if possible. For the amount of food you get you will probably spend about $15-20 per person. e-sushihouse.com/
Pho Hoa Hiep: 1402 E 12th St, Oakland, CA 94606; Very fast service with a large parking lot. Simple and good vietnamese food. Not very clean compared to other restaurants but the portions will fill you up. $10-15 per person.
For late late nighters:
New Gold Medal: 389 8th St (between Franklin St & Webster St) Oakland, CA 94607; Ordinary Chinese food in Oakland Chinatown. Opens LATE! 7am-4am everyday. $10 per person. (you'll probably see my Z there at late nights)

Here's some I didn't see on your list!
Mt. Hamilton/Mines Road/Del Puerto (between Livermore & San Jose)- The Junction. The new owner, Pam, has a BBQ pulled pork sammich there that is the BEST EVAR. She does it as a special, but if you're bringing a group through, call her the day before, and she's really nice about accommodating that. The food quality there has greatly increased since she took over. Plus, she's really nice.
Highway 9/Boulder Creek (Santa Cruz Mountains). Head down the backside of 9 (less cops there, nowhere near as many places to park) into Boulder Creek, and go to the Boulder Creek Brewery and Cafe. Food is great, prices reasonable, and nifty old building. A nice alternative to Alice's, and you can usually get seating no problem.
Sonora, CA... best steak house EVAR- Gus's Steak House, 1183 Mono Way, Sonora. Nice restaurant (you wouldn't think so from the outside), with linens on the table, excellent service. A little more expensive, but worth it!
Hayward, CA- best burger joint in the West (according to Sunset Magazine a few years back)- VAL'S BURGERS 2115 Kelly Street, Hayward, CA. The burgers are off the chain... and their breakfasts are an awesome way to start the day!

SQUEEZE INN, No one's had a burger till you got one with the world famous cheese skirt, just ask that weirdo Guy Fiere from the food network, it was a cool hole in the wall now forced to move to a strip mall type place, a couple blocks down...
5301 Power Inn Rd #100
Sacramento, CA 95820
(916) 386-8599
Definitely call in and place your order, dont believe me, just try to stop by lol

The list needs to be updated. This thread has become too long for the quick print and hit the road, plus the attached list list is soooo old.
It is a great thread!
