Heads up never know when it might happen to us
Socal CHP crashed a big car gathering in Riverside, Ca. I've never heard of this, but, be careful out there. Especially if you have mods. If CHP sees a large group together on the freeways, they might follow and call for back up. I'm hoping that there was some type of motive besides ticketing for mods.

To all,
Operations such as these, don't occur on a whim.
Usually an insider / informant has a lead on much bigger offenses, such as stolen items, illegal activities or narcotics.
Hence the "Twenty vehicles were even impounded due to suspected stolen parts."
I highly doubt the department's intentions for setting up raid was to simply give out fix-it tickets.
Attorney's would have a field day in such a circumstance.
So if you respect the law, you don't have to worry about a thing!

On the contrary ... what a great way for law enforcement officers to collect some extra overtime funds, get publicity for "cleaning up the streets", and generate political clout for themselves as revenue generators during a time of anticipated financial recession.
That's as shady as lawmakers cancelling the NorCal D1 event awhile back because drifting attracts "gangbangers" and "drug trafficing".

seems pretty shady, i would be pretty upset if the cops insisted that all my go-fast mods were strictly for street racing. racing yeah, but street racing?

I can tell from experience that when people do stupid things like try to drift when they don't know how in the parking lot and end up hitting a pedestrian and a tree, the Law Enforcement will pay a visit. Here's a little sample for those who don't know what I mean.

It's not just about fines and tickets for tinted windows and other mods, it also about safety of others. They are just doing their job.
If you have mods that are illegal, you should not be surpised if you get a ticket or fine. You knew what you were buying and installing. That's just the chance you take for having a little fun. I'm just as guilty.

For example one year we had 150+ cars at a park, cops rolled thru, no issues, just making sure everyone was behaving. However mr. park ranger didn't like the fact that we took up his entire parking lot, But thats a different matter.

I went on a run w/ some of my homies from a different forum. We gathered in parking lot up near SF and made a run to half moon bay.
After a lil while of being in that parking lot cops just started pouring in. They waited for us to start moving and then pulled a bunch of people over for absolutely nothing.
They kept asking everyone they pulled over "who organized the event" and when they never got a straight answer the ended up just letting us go on our way.
The whole experience was soooo unnecessary.
At least they didn't start writing BS tickets to everyone.
