Default HIN Cop stories...

Damn I have to say this was a Shi^*y way to conduct an event. You pay for parking go around the corner and get harrased by the police. I am working on writting a letter to HIN staff, expressing my dissapointment. We rolled in with a few Z's and 350Z7K got popped for 7 violations. I mean come on almost every car that pulled in had something that was modified. The show well needless to say was just ok. When you pay $8.00 for parking, possibly getting a fix a ticket, and $30.00 to get in you would expect to get a pretty good show. Maybe I just have high standards.

This (**** traffic cops who have nothing beter to do) is one of the primary reasons why I never go when invited by friends to these kind of events.

Unfortunately, I don't think that HIN can do anything about the cops being as that the cars need to use public roads to get to the event unless HIN cn work out some kind of 'treaty' with the various police departments.

Car shows are boring anyways.

Reminds me of a thread on 350zmoting. The guy went to an HIN and made it inside the parkin garage but snapped pictures out onto the street of LAPD or some agency pulling-over two cars.

They don't do this kind off crap when they have the Goodguys All "AMERICAN" GTG Shows... I go all the time and the cops are around but they are directing traffic. I used to take my 99 Z28 Camaro with a lopy cam and no cats right next to them at the light and they never once popped. They only do this kind of thing to import cars. If any body is writing a letter it should be to the city and ask why they don't do this to the "American" muscle car guys

I got a story to tell too. As we (Me, dphoenix and tbg35c) left the parking lot, Matt(tbg35c) was ahead of me by 3 cars, while David(dphoenix) was 2 cars behind me. From afar, I saw 3 cops on a bike waiting on the corner across the lot. I then saw one cop jumped on his bike and followed a car. Luckily me and David got off without a hitch. Turned out, it was Matt and another G35 whom the cop pulled over earlier.
That sucks!!

PD can't catch ....drug dealers, murderers, terrorist, car nappers, kid nappers etc.... so to make it easy on them, they catch us.... which I think is a waste of time. Car enthusiast should be left alone with our hobbies, except for those who act retarded burn tires, street drift, street race etc. blast their music (all you hear is vibrating license plate)

I know some PD's are car enthusiast and some have no life.... (that's the one who gets you)

They could be racist also, if you drive a muscle car they'll let you slide... (trust me I witnessed it)

They just go after the Z's and G35's because they know it's money in their pockets. Working on their retirement investment. And watch JDM Theory also coming up. Same thing will happen again. Palo Alto, S.F. and areas around there same thing. That's the reason I don't go to them either. I heard too many stories just like the ones above. from last year too.

Yup, Ed was spot on. I got caught coming out of the parking lot around 10:30pm. The cop was targeting spectators on the way in and on the way out. I got lucky coming in, but coming out was different story. They were clearly using the amber light as an excuse to nail you on the way out since it was easy to spot sidecorner light at night. They will then look for other violations. Sorry to hear about that guy with 7 violations. Hope he can get it sorted out soon.

I also would like to comment regarding the police situation. That was one of the problem i was hoping to avoid that day. Thank god that two of my boy's told me about the cops when they left, and suggested an alternate route home. So my boy and I left and took the suggested route without any incidents. But I did see three motorcycle cops came into the staging area, circled a couple times, then left. So they were clearly trying to scout the remaining cars and were just waiting to give out additional citations. The thing I don't understand is that the city knows that HIN is there that day, and yet they did nothing to prevent the tickiting incident from happening. Rather than allowing the import car enthousiasts to have a good time at the show, instead, we have to worry about whether the cops will harrass us after we leave the premisis. To me, that is total BS. This is clearly a stereotype by the city and the police department; and this needs to be brought to the attention of the city. If this problem does not get resolved, I'm not sure how much longer HIN will stay in business.

I am surprised that no one called in a phony bomb threat to keep the cops busy while everyone drove away.

Not that I would do that. But I am surprised no one did.

I would think HIN staff would've worked something out with the city. If this continues to happen and no one shows up, HIM may end up following Nopi out the door. I guess that's the one good thing about the east coast, we dont get harrassed by anyone not driving a SRT-4.
