We all need to go to a few AAS events with Z cars. "Normal" TTOD cars at their events are about 2 seconds faster than TTOD "normal" cars at UFO. The July Larry Park Memorial event in July with AAS is not to be missed. They attract national class drivers and cars from all over West Coast and Canada as a nationals tune up event. Its a real treat to have it in my back yard.

I go to their events whenever I have delusions that I'm quick. It brings me back to reality pretty fast.

LOL
I think we may have a faster ASP Zo6 and driver here in SFR this year. Will see soon enough. I'm well aware what I'm up against as I run against Boytons GT2 in PCA in my FP Boxster and XP 914. I could beat him in those cars but 370z isn't close to speed of of his car in the turns and forget drag race. I did Almost beat both ASP cars this weekend a Viper and Porsche RSA! so I'm sure I'll be competitive in NT right? Lol!

This guy. This car is one of better prepped ASP cars I have seen. And Joel is very fast.

Yeah, that's what I set my barometer so low. I know we can get our cars to compete for TToD at UFO-type events, but AAS/SCCA - no way.

We have an 50 year old Lockheed autox club (http://www.lmsportscarclub.org/) that goes out once a month locally on LM campus, and about 3x/year at Marina. More and more Zs are showing up to the events, and the camaraderie is good and friendly amongst us Z cars.

If my Z gets the HP boost I've been thinking about, maybe it'll be able to hang in a larger event with a deep SM2 field, though I'll probably still be 2s back.

The c5z06's are still quite fast, but there is a serious hp advantage for the C6 versions. I think Jr has won ~4 jackets in the past 7 or 8 years in SS and ASP. I'll tell him he needs to step his game up if I see him on the 27th .

I suspect "Jr" already knows who Maier Racing is and suspect he knows the Villareals too. Lost track of how many nationals Maier Racing has taken over the years. Joels driving looks good in early season ...and are you sure what lurks under the hood of that car?

I could have bought a Corvette but that would have been way too easy! OK back to Z cars!

Havent talked to them about that car I'm more interested in his dads e mod turbo Lotus Europa. But one thing I know that crowd knows motors. I was looking at it - full Penske dampers, monoballs, wicked looking blade like sways, all the goodies.

But regardless I'm toast if I have to go to San Diego and drive against him in ASP in a mildy prepared 370Z. Maybe massacred is better word?

Still dont know why its taking SCCA so long to rule on 370Z classing for SP. Its very frustrating as I'm pretty much doing this for fun until I get a class. I wonder if SCCA understands how many people they turn off with their approach. I talk to so many people who go elsewhere now. I'm holding out however as I like the national level of competition.

I learned (after the last fastrck) that some committees only meet every two months, which is likely why there were no street prepared mentions in the latest fastrack.

There's still time for 3/20 though Grant, who knows

He he he. One of the EVO guys protested me running the unclassified 370z in BSP at UFO! How funny is that! I agreed to go to ASP so headache is averted for organizers. Got to love over dog car protesting me! Guess someone really wants a trophy.

Yeah UFO is very low key club. Organizers couldn't believe it. Especially since I cleared the BSP classing ahead of time but apparently this guy threw a fit. They know I'm low key and I have no issue going to ASP. I just thought I would start in class where I was even match car wise. I have to laugh as my car is truly closer to BS than Street Prepared as I still have stock suspension and very basic intake and free flow cat mod. Oh and real LSD. That's it.

You better be careful as your car isnt SM2 legal. That miata driver might try the same thing. LOL!

Some people who dont know UFO probably dont understand that they are sort of an anti SCCA, anti protest environment club. Its a rarity to get protested in this group. And their points system is developed to reward those who show up for every single event. So you could finish almost last every event and win you class just by showing up every event.

I still think it makes quite a statement about the 370Z that the guy who usually sets TTOD in an all out 400 plus WHP BSP EVO protests a poorly prepared 370Z on stock suspension. I would have had a leg to stand on if SEB had got to my car this past month as UFO organizer wanted to keep me in BSP. They actually called SCCA and were told SP classing issue for 370Z hasnt even been discussed yet!

Now I'm curious can I protest him for running a ESP car in BSP? LOL!

Where have you been the last few months? Miata.net?

I'll be at the UFO school also.

Anyone else going to the school tomorrow at Infineon? If so maybe we can get together and pray for no rain.

Finally.....our season starts tomorrow! God the car loaded up. Don't worry...the plastics are going back in. I had them out doing a few things, and didn't have time to put them back in before instructing tomorrow. Makes fitting stuff in easier. Only thing was I could fit my better jack in and had to use some small, cheapy one I had around. Oh well.
