autocross fun run?

 

They are doing a day trip as there's no autocross event in April. There's probably some info on the website. If not I can post it. It's a drive from hollister to paso Robles and back. From the newsletter it seems some people are really serious about the driving and some are just there to enjoy the day (the faster ones will wait for the others periodically according to the newsletter).

 

Due to noise complaints, it looks like the SCCA autox this Sunday at Great America is cancelled unless a miracle happens. From what I've heard, its mostly been noise complaints about the recent drifting events other clubs have put on there.

 

I heard the same thing. Way to go, drifters!

So I noticed there aren't anymore AutoX events with UFO before I return home for the summer. Any other recommendations on where to run?

 

The in thing of the moment for the drifter/hellaflush crowd is straight pipes...

Just another reason to dislike that crowd.....if I/we needed one.

 

Anyone going to the GGLC event on Saturday? I'm considering it if I can get permission from the wife

If I go I'm going to use it as test and tune time, making adjustments on the car to see what changes they actually make.

 

SCCA at candlestick-

Let a GT Academy candiate co-drive to get some Nissan driving exp points before going to Silverstone later this month. Ran the car in SM T2 (should have been SSM?)and he was 1st in class I think and i'm sure 5th overall. This was my 6th event and I was 7 spintastic seconds off.

Car is 03 enth with O.S. diff, Ohlins DFV and SPL UCAs and rear camber arms.

Had it corner balanced and aligned to
Front -3.2 Camber, 9.7 Caster, -.02 Toe
Rear -2.0, .03

Weight was 3316 with 5 gals and 150lb driver 54/45 F/R balance.

Tires were 275/40 Continental something something DW on 17' RPF1's.

It was nice to see what the car could really do, actually it was damned scary. Hitting 3rd in a parking lot in pass seat with dumpsters scattered about is something else. Also, gravel sucks!

Bryan can pretty much drive tires off anything. I'd love to see what he could do with my Nismo. The car is really dialed in now. My interest in AX is starting to diminish now that I see its potential on the track. I'm having hard time keeping my car BSP legal. I think I will be lucky to land in SSM once I'm finnshed.

 

So whos going to duel at deanza?

 

I know of at least a few Zs; I'll be driving for sure.

Hey guys, just moved to the area last week and I think ill go to this as my first CA autocross in the Z! Car is stock and have some Hoosier koni cup tires but likely just bring the street tires... do they do some kind of street tire index here like CST? Otherwise im in CS.
