NorCal Autocross
Pic from yesterday's autox. My Hoosiers weren't in horrible condition, but I was faster with the new RS3s. Sad.
Here is the car with the new TSW Interlagos wheels (on the rear only for now) with 315/30/18 Hoosier A6s.

So who is up for UFO autox next Sunday, 31 July?
I am undecided on tires myself at this point. I have new 10.5" wheels that fit a 315 A6 on the rear, which I like, but I didn't like that the new RS3s were faster than semi-worn A6s. Maybe it's time for new Hoosiers (I did pick up some lightly-scrubbed 285 A6s), but I have also been looking at the Hankook C91 compound, which is supposedly softer than the A6. The catch? It only comes in 275/35/18, so even if it is a tad more sticky, it would be more narrow than my 285/315 A6 combo. You pros have any thoughts?

Looks like someone got the new spoiler installed.
I will be there. Hoping to get a race alignment done at the shop where I'm interning prior to and after the event. Right now I'm selling a bunch of 370Z parts for them so hopefully they can make it happen.
Anyway, looking forward to driving.

Scott,
I was 2.6s faster on 10 (2 cycle) run A6's than new RS3's. Both 285's on a 10.5". The c91 is an option, but I take it as a red flag that no one on the national level uses them. You can also consider the Goodyears, but they are VERY hard to come by.

Thanks. I can't imagine going faster than I did on the RS3s, but I do believe it (and of course it makes absolute sense). I guess my Hoosiers really were done (not corded, but the grooves on the rear ones were gone). I got a bunch of the A6s from our buddy, so I'll do some back-to-back next Sunday. I may try the C91s. There is some speculation that they are not at nationals because there is no contingency program for them. Maybe I'll have them in time to do 3 back-to-backs next Sunday. It's a private event, so we should get lots of fun runs in.
