Norcal Track Days
Out of all the 90+ days I tracked my 03, only once did I have a heat-related sideline or failure. That was when the rear main seal failed (likely due to extreme oil temps OR it was just its time). You have a stock 05? You should be fine, IMO. Unwrapped test pipes make some heat, but in my experience the non-HR Zs handle that ok.
!Water will be my best friend.

I will be running in Group B, PF class
What group is everyone in?

Good luck with no aftermarket cooling! HR Zs hate us. I'll see you guys in the AM, me, Kevin, and francis are parking at the big hanger closest to the hot pit entrance. Come park with!
Mental note - 250 oil or 227-230 water is where I call quits on a hot lap. I should put a sticky note in my car to remind me!

Sorry, didn't see this in time, but was helping the SpeedSF crew since they were short staffed so I parked with them up under the canopy.

Official results coming...At least now I'm in 3rd place for PAF. Milton and I will be battling it out for 3rd and 4th for season end, unless matt misses more events (hopefully he doesn't)

Ya wasn't a good day for me and my times are embarrassing haha. I came mainly for points, my car wasn't 100% ready and tires are dead (I know all bs excuses) still fun, I had to bail out after session 3. I'll be at 5 mile day. Can't wait to be able to drive it at more then 20mph!!

I have some RS3 tires if you are interested. Used 285s (were still good enough for 2:04.x at T-hill bypass at the last SpeedSF event) and NEW 275s that I don't need now. I also have some take off BFG R1Ss. Not class legal at 40 TWR, but thought I saw you asking around for some.
Yup, day was DAMN hot!

Hello trackers.
Heard there is new pavement so I had to sign up. First time going out in the Z, signed up with Patricks SpeedSF July group.
2008-2012 I worked my way up through the DE groups in my Miata, and into Spec Miata racing. Then sadly had to sell the car.
On the Z I have Bilstein PSS, Michelin Pilot Super Sport (245 18x8.5 front, 255 18x9.5 rear), Front Stop Tech BBK w/ 309 pads (not too happy with these pads). Should work out...but it will be different from a full blown race car. Just got a JWT clutch/flywheel. Should last right? Anyone been out with the 309 pads?
Replacing/flushing the brake fluid, and getting an oil change. Any other suggestion? Would love to get a ride or two with yall who have Z experience.
Looking forward to it!

JWT clutch/flywheel will last forever. I had mine replaced since 2007 and until now I am still using it.
