Norcal Track Days
the lap you ran me down I ran a 2:09.1 or something like that. The 2:07 was my last session of the day, I think I picked up a little partially because I was running with A group and was following some of them around and stuff. The car has a good amount time in it I just need to get some seat time in and play with the car, im gunning for 2:02-03 bypass with 10.5" square and 285 square RS3 (9.5/10.5 with 275/285 RS3 currently) and maybe Akebono brakes, maybe. Otherwise cars staying the same and im just driving it. There is a few places Im not 100% sure what to do, T1 stay in 4th or DS to 3rd and take 1-2 in 3rd or take 1-2 in 4th and DS to 3rd for 3, take 9 in 4th or DS to 3rd and do 3-4 between 9-10, go down to 2rd for 11 or stay in 3rd, etc. Also watching the video I realize I early apex just about every corner, but im use to -1.8 front camber and not -3.3 so diving corners is much easier now. Its just seat time..
Are you coming out for BRP next month with CityTech?

In both cars I would DS to 3rd for T9, then grab 4th coming down the hill. I don't like to shift there but I could never seem to get the same momentum by staying in 4th. When I'm on sticky tires and get a good run down the hill, I need 5th. I suspect you could stay in 3rd until the bottom of the hill, then into 4th. I DS to 3rd for T10, then to 2nd for T11, then all the way to 5th down the straight. I suspect I won't need 5th in the HR for the back straight, but will still need it a little for the front straight; we will see.
Here are back-to-back 1:59s. My shifting on RS3 is all the same except going in to T10; I don't need 5th on the RS3s (about 3s slower on RS3). With mods and the same tires, I think the Nismo will run about 1.5-2s faster.

I am almost to the point of either needing to grab 5th or just let it bounce off the limiter, with the 2:07 I was at like 7350-7400rpm in 4th, so I think if I take 14 smoother/better it can set me up to carry more speed out of 15 and if I brake a tad later into T1 ill need 5th. Pretty much if I get any faster then I am now, which I plan to. Thanks for the tips, ill look over the video when I have a chance.

Not without aero. If I can run a 2:02 bypass with 285 RS3 on 10.5 square wheels, but otherwise how my car sits ill be content with my car. I want to run 1:59 bypass without aero and on street tires but that'll take some different suspension and a lot of driving to get there.

Have you watched the video yet? I could do a ride along with you at the next event if you are interested in any pointers, and/or let me drive it!
Sweet! Looking forward to running with you!
2:02 with a fresh set of 285 RS3s will be easy, IMO. I'd look for 2:01. What suspension do you have? And if you run a stickier tire (changes class), you could get that 1:57/58 I mentioned without aero. My Z has ~40rwhp less than yours when it ran 1:59s on out heat-cycled BFG R1s.

jk, although in theory that's not in the rules, but what fun would that be if I had someone else drive for me?
