I was on a hot lap lol, its on my computer. I uploaded my overall fastest lap of the day (2:07.001)

the lap you ran me down I ran a 2:09.1 or something like that. The 2:07 was my last session of the day, I think I picked up a little partially because I was running with A group and was following some of them around and stuff. The car has a good amount time in it I just need to get some seat time in and play with the car, im gunning for 2:02-03 bypass with 10.5" square and 285 square RS3 (9.5/10.5 with 275/285 RS3 currently) and maybe Akebono brakes, maybe. Otherwise cars staying the same and im just driving it. There is a few places Im not 100% sure what to do, T1 stay in 4th or DS to 3rd and take 1-2 in 3rd or take 1-2 in 4th and DS to 3rd for 3, take 9 in 4th or DS to 3rd and do 3-4 between 9-10, go down to 2rd for 11 or stay in 3rd, etc. Also watching the video I realize I early apex just about every corner, but im use to -1.8 front camber and not -3.3 so diving corners is much easier now. Its just seat time..

Are you coming out for BRP next month with CityTech?

I've only driven a DE and a DE rev-up at T-hill, so I suspect the HR may need less shifts than either of those. I need 5th on the front straight, so I DS to 4th to take T1. I pop back into 3rd to take T2, then grab 4th as I exit then back into 3rd for T3. My up-rev could stay in 3rd through all this and I suspect your HR can as well.

In both cars I would DS to 3rd for T9, then grab 4th coming down the hill. I don't like to shift there but I could never seem to get the same momentum by staying in 4th. When I'm on sticky tires and get a good run down the hill, I need 5th. I suspect you could stay in 3rd until the bottom of the hill, then into 4th. I DS to 3rd for T10, then to 2nd for T11, then all the way to 5th down the straight. I suspect I won't need 5th in the HR for the back straight, but will still need it a little for the front straight; we will see.

Here are back-to-back 1:59s. My shifting on RS3 is all the same except going in to T10; I don't need 5th on the RS3s (about 3s slower on RS3). With mods and the same tires, I think the Nismo will run about 1.5-2s faster.

I am almost to the point of either needing to grab 5th or just let it bounce off the limiter, with the 2:07 I was at like 7350-7400rpm in 4th, so I think if I take 14 smoother/better it can set me up to carry more speed out of 15 and if I brake a tad later into T1 ill need 5th. Pretty much if I get any faster then I am now, which I plan to. Thanks for the tips, ill look over the video when I have a chance.

2:05 in a stock S2000 on 255 NT01 and brake pads. I'm scared to think what's gonna happen when he gets his coilovers and aero.

I'm saying in general. He'll probably be 1:58 bypass with coilovers/bolt ons/aero.

Yup, which will compete with the others in that class! Your z can do 1:58 as well, maybe 1:57.

Not without aero. If I can run a 2:02 bypass with 285 RS3 on 10.5 square wheels, but otherwise how my car sits ill be content with my car. I want to run 1:59 bypass without aero and on street tires but that'll take some different suspension and a lot of driving to get there.

2:02 with a fresh set of 285 RS3s will be easy, IMO. I'd look for 2:01. What suspension do you have? And if you run a stickier tire (changes class), you could get that 1:57/58 I mentioned without aero. My Z has ~40rwhp less than yours when it ran 1:59s on out heat-cycled BFG R1s.

Have you watched the video yet? I could do a ride along with you at the next event if you are interested in any pointers, and/or let me drive it!

lol make it sound so easy. In theory I can run a 275 square NT01 and still be in PAF, and im on swift springs and Dspec shocks. I plan on upgrading, I just need to figure out what im doing with the car before pulling the trigger on anything. I have watched the video a few times lol...ive been watching every turn in detail with your :59 vs my :07 laps and I noticed you turn in later then me just about everywhere which means youre braking later, carrying more speed, etc etc etc. Id be down to have you ride along with me and give me some pointers, and even possibly doing a ride along in your Z as well next time were both at thunderhill.

I will be there Sunday for the time attack. Are you running PAF group? What's your fastest time there? I think I migh have a chance to podium at BRP, esp if I have a friend drive my car and put down like a 2:02 range time. jk, although in theory that's not in the rules, but what fun would that be if I had someone else drive for me?
