Automatic for the suck!!
I did some troubleshooting on my car some more. I narrowed it down to the torque converter. Im 110% sure thats what the problem is. I was wondering if anyone knows anybody in the parts business and can get me a new/used torque converter for a pretty stellar price? Wishful thinking I know but ehh you never know right?
Well the right thing to do is get a upgraded one, because if i put a stock one in, im just going to end up running into this problem again. If i can get a upgraded one for a good price ill take it. But im gonna get a stock one. Im thinking of de-modding the G and getting a newer 6spd one when I come back from japan. Drop the twins in there with a twin plate clutch and i should be golden!! No tranny problems!

Yea the 6mt might be a better chance. My friend ehmad had greddy twins on his automatic running 12's for awhile no torque converter issues... He sold the Z for a C5 vette.
Thats pretty sick man. Hes very fortunate. Im sure having my car just sit around for the last 8 months and then me getting back 3 days ago and riding her hard had something to do with it. I was also debating on getting a Z touring or something. The Z's are so much faster then the G's when they are turbo'd up man.

So since mine is a 6MT it should be faster right?
I vote for gettin a 6MT Z so maybe you can keep up with me when we get my kit on.
I've never seen a boosted Z or G run into problems with their torque converter. I highly doubt that is your problem.....
you may just need a transmission rebuild. I've been looking into the SFR fully built 5AT. It is fairly affordable, so you may want to check it out.
p.s. you can get upgraded torque converters from most of the vendors, not just GTM.

What else could it be, I put the car in drive or reverse and nothing really happens. Sometimes it will catch and I can accellarate, then it just slips again. I can leave it in drive for a couple of mintues until it trys to propel itself forward on its on. Same thing in reverse. Chime in if you got another opinion on what could be wrong.
This transmission is kicking my *** hardcore. Im leaning real hard here on completely parting out my turbo kit and getting rid of the G for a ridciously low price. If I demod it, im going to take it to infinti and use up that powertrain warranty. I really got to do a good job putting the car back together so it doesnt looking like turbos were installed. My only fear is they give me some crap like oh you didnt do the 50k service so we cant give you the powertrain warranty. Anyone have any experience with the infiniti dealership here?
Bro when i went to nissan with my car, they saw the S/C they said no way! so if they say something about 50k service just tell them ur in the Military and just didn't have d time besides ur a mec.
It's not your TC. You've burned out your clutch packs. Need to rebuild that 5AT. 4k is nothing for a tranny rebuild every couple years. The 6MT folks got it no better. Once you boost, expenses go up.
