You'll get differences of opinion here. They're all the same IMO; however, having said that, I use Union 76. This is based on my experience with my friend's F/I S4 performing poorly with Chevron/Shell vs Union 76. We did not even look at Tesoro or Aloha . They're no 93 or higher gas here that I know of; however, if you go to Union 76 on King St, they do sell 100 Octane, which you can mix with 92 Octane for a nice 93-95 rating

The only guys refining gas to my knowledge are Tesoro and Chevron. So Aloha, on base, Shell, 76 whatever it's from those two refineries.

I'd stay with those two, but be careful of the "bargain" gases as I don't know if their detergents are up to snuff.

Fdao - man I have to check out that 76, I didn't know anyone in Hawaii was requesting anything with that kind of octane.

So you think Pearl harbor base gas is ok for day to day... and 76 for track days/ post-turbo install

What will happen if detergents are not up to snuff.....

Detergents are good for long term usage. So if you run your car a long time with "cheap" gas your injectors won't be as clean as one with more detergents in them.

For the usual car it's probably not a big deal, but if you have a performance oriented car, I'd spend the extra money and get something you know is good.
