On the last video, as i'm passing the camera, you can actually hear the turbo. Thats pretty much how it sounds all the time.

Dyno's

Now, Before people get all bent outa shape and talk alot of trash, we were using a .68 AR housing. I also have a .58 housing and we plan on switching to that to see if the power comes in sooner. However, even with where it currently comes in, its great. No matter how hard I get on it, the tires don't spin. The power comes in easy and the car just takes off.

I tried to get some video today or some drive-by's and some in car, but the camera can't pick up the sound of the turbo. I'm hoping that Joe's camera has better sound pick up. I'll let ya know about that harness though, thanks

/\ +1 I tried that too and the camera pickup the exhaust sound instead of the sweet whining of the turbo. It is really hard to capture the sound but even with no boost you can really hear the turbo spining... I love it.

Nick,

Sorry it's taken so long for me to post. I just moved to my house in Morrison, CO and haven't had the chance to set the internet up yet.

I'm very happy that you are happy with your setup. A lot of time and effort went in to your car and it's great to see it doing so well. I wish I was there to hear the damn thing in person!

Doug has a point, sometimes that happens, but the comment wasn't needed in the thread, but this wouldn't be my350z.com without some negative comments. Ah well, never fails.

This is just the first initial setup, different turbos will be tested, among other components that will be changed to maximize the performance of the STS kit.

Along with the people and shops Nick thanked, I would also like to thank Hal at Injected for setting us up with the Haltech and a base map the car could run on during the break in period. Thanks man!

The Turbo he has now is capable of up to 750hp so with the smaller a/r he will be within where the power will actually benefit the Motor without having to run more boost. Right now he has more top end that he is not even close to seeing so if he goes smaller on the turbine side he should be seeing the power sooner and it will be more usable. The only way he will choke out the .58 is if he had a bigger Motor or more RPM so he should be fine.

Not everyone wants to follow the beaten path! It's people like him that give us more options and obviously something to talk about. Good job for thinking outside the box. Another thing people aren't looking at is cost. I bet he spent thousands less than the traditional forced induction option for that much power. There are some things he will figure out and in the end he will have a great car that HE wants that does everything HE planned and paid for. But then again haters keep hatin.

intake air temps at 20 psi never got over 150 even on three back to back pulls. i was definitely surprised. they did a few things to keep the piping cooler on this setup.

Great build CIN! Glad to see some NC shops turn out some awesome cars.

But I am pissed that yet another built VQ has hit the road here when I'm not built.

So how is that compared to other twin kits and stuff? When is it considered dangerous?

me no like the power curve

but it does help the car hook up (not that wing from a dig lol)

With that being said, congrats on doing something different! The car is not slow by any means and your happy with your set-up and car, thats more than I can say....
