Nah not bb's....really don't pick up that much spool...and the water'less bb's yea those are $$$. The 58's will be laggier, but with the cams will have a much larger usable rev range (it'll just be higher than I'm used too lol). Kinda hoping that the combo of the billet wheels (yea so much speculation on if they actually help with spool...but they definately recover after shifts better), and the lwfw, will off-set some of the lag....Thankfully these motors still make some mid-tq so its not a bad thing really.

Yea chicago can be precarious, thankfully I don't dd anything (hoorah public trans).

I cant imagine you can drive anywhere around Chicago and not get in stop and go traffic for miles.

I thinkits amazing how a teeny 4mm difference in wheel size can totally change how much lag a turbo has.

Are you getting the BB turbos? thats balla money!

ya i just hoping that i dont have a 1000 rpm power band since I only have JWT C2s, JWT springs, and no girdle. Seems like 7500ish is about all thats safe for. another 500 rpms would really be nice but that woulda been an entirely different build to support that.

Seeing how well those 5557's did, those 5857s will be sweet

Probably have full boost around 5-5500 I would guess.

Nah, Pauter rods.

Its getting mighty close. Waiting on a fluid dampener right now (cracked another factory harmonic balancer).

Come on Tom! I know I gave you some better pics!!

Tom's car is coming along nicely. We really appreciate Tom's patience. His cams are in. The motor is going back together and we should have some results shortly. I know I'm damn near as excited as he is to get him back out terrorizing the streets.

Nope the old ones were pre-billets (build was just done too soon I guess lol). 54mm intake, I don't remember what the exhaust side is (its from their "sport compact" line from when that was the buzzword)

Plan was to go to 5857's but it turns out my housings and center section were not compatible with the billet wheels.
So we still went for bigger, they are same exhaust side with 60mm intake wheel.....rated at 590hp each (old ones were rated at 460hp ea).
Since its the same exhaust side, hopin lag won't be too much worse than it was before.....but will be revvin more to help combat lag anyway

Hopin to hear some noise from it this week

You would actually be surprised how street friendly this setup is. I have a Z in the shop right now with this exact clutch and you seriously would barely know it was a 6-puck. Now, when I ran a 6-puck RPS clutch on my Supra I wanted to kill myself in traffic!!

I have been trying to take pics and keep Tom as updated as possible, and it's coming down to the final things for his car. I am so excited to get his car back up and running and cruise around so he can whomp on me with pump gas as usual!!

Update is everything mechanically is finished in the car. She'll start up for the first time this year next week after sorting out a few timing issues. Very little left to be done on this beast.
