Function:Tuned - Greddy Z with Extras
- Jon first brought his Z to us almost 2 years ago looking to get tuned with his brand new vortech supercharger kit that he had installed.
Like any of us once he had a taste of boost there was no turning back. He got bored with 340whp @ 7psi on the regular vortech kit rather quick
and decided that he wanted more power. Jon opted to upgrade his vortech SC-Trim charger with a brand new T-Trim charger with race bairings and
straight cut gears. Further we modified the standard intercooler pipes to fit the massive 31" x 12" x 4" intercooler. Back onto the dyno again
Jon's car ended up laying down an amazing 398whp @ 12 psi through the standard vortech pulley setup! More than thrilled with his new power Jon felt
he was done. WRONG!!! After some mechanical problems with the votech kit associated in part by vortech's bearing issue Jon opted to remove the
Vortech kit and replace it with a Greddy Twin Turbo kit. Lets begin the build:
- Stock block (for now)
- Greddy Twin Turbo kit w/intercooler
- AAM 3" downpipes & dumps
- AAM 3" true dual exhaust
- AAM fuel return system
- AAM oil pan spacer
- TurboXs Utec
- DW 650cc injectors
- HKS EVC 6
- HKS Autotimer
After installing all these parts the Z was put onto the dyno again. Running a stock block friendly 9psi yeilded a final number of 378whp. For now
Jon is again happy with his new found power for now but plans to build the motor, next fall and really push the Greddy turbo kit to its limits,
following his graduation from college. Good luck and cant wait until then!

This is the car where all my troubles started, stupid open dumps and sick TT power
Looking forward to big things from this car in the next year.

I can vouch for the owner..... he gets on it a fair share of times when he goes out .... and its def. fast!!!! Oh and I hope you ( Mike ) don't start charging me for any tech support via phone....hah
I cant recall off the top of my head. I will have the graph posted up later this week, we were unable to get them off the dyno this weekend!! Floppy Drive FTMFL
Hey Randy,
Dynapaks read and tell crank horsepower. Your car would make well over 500 on that same dyno.
Dynojets are the only dyno that everyone compares to. Really no substitutes because you cant alter a DJ graph.

I know that the dynopack will read a little higher than a DJ but its nowhere near my crank horsepower. For what its worth a '04 GTO with header back exhaust and intake put down 342whp on the same dynopack the same day (it was a dyno day). I know for a fact that the GTO has a lot more than 342 at the crank esp. with some bolt ons.
Hey what up Jon?
Well Dave has a DynoDynamics, they tend to read a little lower than Dynojets. The Dynapak dyno, like the one used at TurboXS, will read a lot higher if you want to dyno it on there.
Of course, like i said before, there is a reason that everyone wants to correct it to Dynojet numbers.

Not fair, MD has Functiontuned and Jeremy@AAM...
