You bet we'd be up for getting together with all the NM Nissan enthusiasts after the meet. Any great restaurants we can get reservations for?

I've been in touch with Billy Scribner, the parts and service manager at Garcia Infiniti. Although it's late in the game, we're working on some plans to solidify the agenda and gain more seat time for each participant. Can't announce anything more until things get worked out, but it's looking like a FUN time!

Hey David, make sure to call me on your cell phone when you guys are an hour or less away from the house (that should put you in Santa Fe when you call) My cell number is 505-301-8049. Just want to make sure I'm home when you get here. Darrel has my address so you guys should be good to go.

PS: you don't make reservations but you can visit a few.

Here's the latest on the raffle. We've collected quite a few things. We have a free tint, a bunch of road hazard kits, digital tire pressure gauges, shirts/ hats, Stillen short shift and tons of other stuff. The plan is that raffle tickets will be $5. We'll be doing a raffle every hour of the meet. All proceeds from the raffle will be going to the Red Cross. Everyone who comes out will be able to participate in the raffle. We also have a bunch of free Pepsi products for attendees. See ya'll there.
Todd did you get your car back????
If anyone gets lost or has any questions call me at 505-980-1961 (cell) -jamey

Here's a synopsis of the event: there were about 30-35 cars that showed up at Sandia and 26 of those ran the track. After doing a initial drive through, it was decided the 1.3 mile 'short course' would be the better choice to avoid the north section and its concrete walls. We ran three morning practice sessions of "follow the leader" with instructors driving a Z06, BMW, Audi coupe and my Z. There wasn't much time for individual instructions, but at least everyone managed to get in 25-30 laps with breaks in between. We ran groups of 4-5 cars following their instructor at gradually increasing speeds.
There was a break in-between to get some drift cars (including a well-setup 240SX) some practice laps and they also ran a demo over lunch. Afternoon saw us setting up two cars at a time (and spaced apart) for four laps of the track. Sandia MSP short course has an interesting combination of medium and slow speed turns. I especially like the decreasing radius combination of T3-6 that call on a compromise of line to get through quickly. Kinda like SCR's Boot, but going the opposte direction. The track also utilized T3-4 of the oval track section and had multiple lines available to drive!
No accidents or injuries were incurred using this format. Not a scratch on any Z, G or any other car, although we had some interesting recoveries (Darrell- this is your cue to explain that tankslapper!). Between supervising the sessions, I had the unique opportunity to drive my Z, a G35C, a modded 200SX Se-R and a FX45 at speed. All were a blast and Garcia Infiniti did a good job of hosting the event with food, raffles, inflatable do-das for the kids and lots of fun stuff.
It was a long day being up at 5:15 AM and finishing by 3 PM, but well worth it. The NM Nissan and race community really pulled together and made the day work. My thanks to the SCCA racers who served as instructors and for the diverse group of enthusiasts who cooperated to make this a success. Let's hope this event gathers some momentum and attracts more interest. Not enough time to go over all the cool Nissans and Infinitis that were there, but suffice it to say it was an amazing time! I was proud to have the senior staff of Sport Z magazine present at the track to participate. Special thanks to Art Singer, SZM Associate Publisher, and his lovely wife Mary, for their hospitality over the weekend.
Let's sum it up: FREE track day, cool cars, diverse people, beautiful weather and lots of FUN. Wait... could this be heaven?

what's to explain? I kept all 4 wheels on the track this time.
Actually I had a lot of fun at the track. It is a little tighter as far as run off room so i didn't want to get too crazy
Coming off turn 3-4 getting on the front straight, you want to open it up and get some speed going, but the wall gave you other ideas.
Thanks again to art and mary for putting up with us.
now about the spindle pin tool.

Here is a link to pics taken by dawn. she had the fx45 and her husband had a brickyard 350z. You need to register and it might take a little while for confirmation.

It has a few vids as well. I went behind the 350z when we there were 2 on the track. The last 2 vids of that sequence you can see i started to catch up. But it was his first time on any track, so when he gets used to it he'll have a lot more fun.
