Unhappy New Aurora Z

Well, I have had my 06 for 1 month and already had to replace the windshield and my front bumper needs new paint! Yes, I am spitting bullets right now. Any recommendations for the paint work? So much for the clear bra being effective. Nobody seems to make a bra yet for the 06, don't really like the bras but I suppose if I don't want to pay for a new paint job every month, not much choice.

The wind is really, really bad here. It threw 3 big rocks at my windshield and busted it in 2 places, cracked all the way across. I have a hundred nicks on my front bumper now.

You must be buying inferior material for your clear bra.

I have had my Z for over 3years, all of it with the clear bra on the car and don't have one nick or scratch on it.

When I purchased the car from Tynans, the clear bra was already on it. I suppose I'll just have to wear a real bra during the winter. I work in Blackhawk so that drive up the canyon can be harsh.

Yea, a vinyl bra will screw you paint up pretty bad. Grit gets trapped in the felt and then you are basically sanding the front of your car when you drive. I agree get a good clear bra installed!

I've taken my Z into Collison World on Evens near that Racing Trenz place. They do great work with a decent price. They get alot of Ferraris, Porsche and when I was there they had two Aston Martins.

They painted my fenders and it matched the orginal paint to the teeth! I'll see if I could get their contact information for you.

PS: was your car the one at King Sooper on Tower and 48th when you got the note?

First Welcome!!! Sorry to hear about your '06 but I would wait on replacing the windshield. I have a nice crack on mine but I won't replace it till most likely late April or May. As far as the bra it does sound like you got a cheap one.
Also if you want to meet more Z owners try to make the Dyno Day this month: https://my350z.com/forum/south-west/165118-co-dyno-day-25-feb.html
Have a couple slots left and would love to see what the 06's are putting to the wheels.

Congrats on your Z purchase and welcome to the group! The commute you've got is probably among the worst for chewing up your front bumper and windshield. I don't have any suggestions for a vendor, but a full-nose 3M clear bra would seem to be mandatory for your '06!

Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! This is the first car that I've had that I can be excited about. Others were "family cars". I did order winter tires and wheels yesterday, only they are probably going to get here a couple of days late with this weather we are having now. No driving to Blackhawk for me this weekend. Gotta love the Coach buses!

Do you live in those condos off of 56th street? I thought I saw you yesterday. Where do you take the bus to Blackhawk at?

Alaro,
Welcome to the board and Z world!
Don't worry about not being able to use the snow tires. We get most of our snow in March and April and they are usually very heavy, wet snow. The tires will get there workout in that stuff. As far the painting, I've used a place called Ralph's Specialty Shop. He does excellent work and is very good at matching paint. His number is 303 424-1706 or www.ralphscustompaint.com.

Hey Don, It's my wife making all the posts but thanks man. I'll get her into the car scene one way or the other. This is a good start though.
