Ok one more post for the day, I had to go into the shop and have a friend weld an AN bung on my new valve cover and they have a Porsche Cup GT3 in the shop getting some work done so I snapped some pics on my phone enjoy! I hopped in and fired it up and I have to say no matter how loud you think your street car is a real race car destroys it, I have to imagine that all professional drivers are deaf by 50 lol.
Looks like a race car, smells like a race car........

Got to love a race car dash, all business it the best! The Motec display is pure sex!

Remote reservoir Ohlins suspension.

I also put some reflective fiberglass insulation on the firewall on the 240SX right behind where the turbo/downpipe will be. (Another phone pic). I also put new seals in the tranny and a hardened clutch fork pivot for a bit more peace of mind. Wednesday I get a ton of wiring supplies and will start with some of the wiring I still need to clean up. The engine harness will be built once the motor is in the car so I can make sure it is all the perfect length.

Made some more progress, got the wiring essentially done for the most part.

I also laid out the intercooler piping and got an idea of what I need to do on that front.

Well I hit another install snag that I had to take care of. I thought that the turbo looked like it sit pretty high with the new setup and when I tried to install the strut tower bar and the hood it confirmed my fears. The turbo sits about an inch higher than before and the STB no longer cleared, neither did the hood......

I started with the hood. This is the nice thing about running a fiberglass hood is that you can clearance it pretty easily with the use of a dremel. Obviously the optimal situation would have been for the turbo to fit but.......

And how it fits underneath.

Now as for the strut bar, at first I figured that I would not run one and just keep my eyes open for one that may fit, but then I had a revelation. I could perhaps put my massive guns () to good use and bend the bar. This Greddy bar is usually symmetrical having an equal bend in the bar on either side as seen in this older pic.

Now my logic was that if I could slacken the angle on the intake side and tighten it up on the exhaust side I may just be able to make it all work. I LOVE IT WHEN THINGS GO AS PLANNED, first try it fit perfectly!
