Arrow Renting PMI/PMP (HPDE)

Was wondering if anyone from the Nissan Sport HPDC class was interested in renting PMP for a day in Sept? I will be home for R&R Sept 23-30. Looking at PMP schedule, Friday the 28th looks like a perfect day. No drag racing schedule and no one has reserved the road course. More info here: http://www.pueblomotorsportspark.com/
Track Rental Info: http://www.pueblomotorsportspark.com...pic.php?t=1690

$100 for 8hrs of personal track racing... Can't beat it!!

Maybe we can schedule another Nissan Sport HPD course, David? Like to see more Z/G owners get into HPDE!

Let me know so we can reserve the date! THANKS!!! Safe Driving!

I talked with PMP about our September 28th date and was told that since Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (RMVR) has the track for that weekend (9/29-30/07), they could no longer grant an exclusive for that Friday. They claimed this was overlooked when I originally requested an exclusive on the track. When I protested, they mentioned that other driving schools have held their safety schools during open track days.

I told them I would not compromise the safety of any participant in any event I was leading. I explained that our driving exercises utilize part of the track and cannot be done while the track is "hot". The reply was that this was a misunderstanding and that September 28th would be an open track day, with either RMVR members or anyone who had previously passed the safety class paying the $100/driver track fee for the day.

I apologize that we cannot put on a Nissan/Infiniti safety class that day. If anyone who has already been through the Nissan Sport safety class wants to still go on 9/28, I'd be happy to join them for an open track day. Depending on how many people show up, they may separate cars up into different groups with limited or open passing rules. Remember what we learned about passing and being passed (safely) during the class. With Robert K's time back in Colorado is limited, I know he'll still be interested!

One final topic is for those Z or G pilots who remain interested in attending the PMP Safety class. I asked for and received an alternate date only four days afterwards (Tues, Oct 2nd) for an exclusive on the track. I'll put up a separate thread this weekend giving details and asking if interest still remains in conducting that class.

Perhaps we should see how many in this group are still interested in attending the 9/28 open track day. Again, track requirements are that you need to have attended the PMP safety class to be able to register, or hold a SCCA, NASA or other racing license.

Well since I don't know when I will be able to do this again I'll go ahead and add myself to the new list.

You have to already attended the HPDC in March to rent the track. Now if David can get another class going for this date than you can the course.

I'd be interested (duh), but I won't know until later in the summer if my work schedule will make it possible in September.

Do you know how many commitments we need to have in order to get exclusive use of the track, vs. just sharing it with whoever else happens to show up that day?

Accually no, I don't know if we can reserve it just for us or not. If I can get enough interest now I'm sure I can call them and see if we can.

You think David & yourself be interested in teaching another HPDC? I'm sure 1) I can sell Safety to PMP vs open track event
2) Hopefuly get even more Z/G owners into high-performance driving

Going to PM David now. Thanks!!!

September 28th sounds like a good possibility, particularly if my ACL surgery is healed by that point. I'll know more by this next week, so let me check. As for whether we do another Nissan Sport/PMI safety course, it depends on whether there's enough interest. That would take away from the track time of those who've already gone through the course (although repeating the exercises is always an option) We'd need at least ten cars to gain exclusive use of PMP for a track day in any case.

Let's see what develops off this thread and I'll go ahead and reserve the date!

Sounds great!!! Everyone start praying to the heal Gods for David's knee.

So we need 10 drivers to secure the track for exclusive use and 10 new driver for a HPD course. So lets get get ten new drivers!!! Sean, Andrew, Kevin, Will, etc... Com'on guys!!! Might be the last chance to run PMP before the winter!!! Some just dropped some major $$$ on mods and this be the place to test them out! (Never good as a saleman. )

1) Robert (March Course)
2) Gary (?) (March Course/Instructor)
3) David (?) (Instructor)

I would recommend that you get $$ ahead of time. Commitments are more genuine when dead presidents are involved.

Oh com'on! Its only three months away! on paying up front. I'm sure once we get enough newbies that need the course David will post all the fees and such. We just want to see who has interest and if we can get 10 drivers that need the course.

from reading david's post, i don't think you need 10 drivers that need the course, but just 10 drivers total. so, correct me if i'm wrong, you need 10 drivers willing to take the course, or 10 certified drivers.

if you don't have 10 certified drivers committed, then the solution is to have the march certified drivers re-take the course as a refresher while us track noobs get squared away

I don't know anyone in those pics you posted Robert but I'll go anyways. Will needs the course? He's been there many times.

David, how's your acl coming along?

Also, does it have to all nissan cars? I mgith gather a few more if we need too.

Unfortunately Joel, I can't. I'll be home on R&R for one week and only free date during the week at PMP. Hate to sound selfish but I really need some track time as I won't be home for another six months after this.
