Bummer - though it's a good call... I'll make the 20th if there's interest from the rest of the group.

November 13th and 14th were the only weekends I have off this month... so the 20th is a NO-GO for me.

Have Fun!

I will check with my co-worker to see if that day works with him.

Don- Very sorry to hear that the 20th is not available for you. I know how much you enjoy these track days!

But that beautiful Brickyard Z will thank you for NOT taking it sledding or ice skating!

Aaarrrgghh, this sucks. The 13th is the only Saturday I have off as well, and there is not enough time to request next Sat off.
I think you made the right call David, thanks for doing so. It isn't easy to cancel what you love. I'll hopefully see you and everyone else back at the track this Spring.

Not sure if any snow fell in CSP, but I must have 7 ft. of it at my house........jk. Just thought I would rant due to the somewhat decent weather day around here yesterday.

I hate weather forecasters, they are always wrong it seems. Next time we are together remind me to tell you a story of the one I hate most..........Nick O'Kelly from 9 News morning edition, biggest asshat I have met in my life.

I always tell my boss that I want to be held to the same performance standards as our meterological friends.

"Stormy" Rottman (oldtime weather forcaster for channel 9) once stated that, in spite of all the millions spent on technology, our state of weather prognostication was no better than that of the WWII era

PS: Stormy was always wrong is his weather forcasts.

Not that I'm telling you anything you didn't already know, but... blame it on the Rockies. Weather forecasts here are rarely correct for more than 30 minutes.

When I lived in Texas, forecasts were reliable for 3 days, sometimes more.

I'm not sure where you guys are coming from. It was frigid and snowing here in Colorado Springs. Even if Pueblo was it's normal 5-8 degrees warmer, the track would still have been too cold; possibly wet/icy, and let's not forget the wind-chill factor. Dave made a good call (for our safety and enjoyment). We're off-season for track days, so any day at the track in the next 4-5 months would be a blessing.

Default Apologizes for rescheduling

Guys, I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate last weekend. As Joel confirmed, the weather down in Colo. Spgs was NOT good and Pueblo was going to be that much worse. If anyone watched the highlights on TV from the football game at the Air Force Academy, you know that it was snowing pretty well.

But I have another problem. With the holidays coming up, I've forgotten about a family obligation for this coming Saturday, the 20th. As a result, I need to ask everybody's indulgence to reschedule AGAIN to Saturday, November 27th. This date may have a silver lining as the weather forcast doesn't look good for this coming weekend. Once again, I apologize for MY oversight and hope that 11/27/04 will be the day that the sunshine pours through for all of us!

Please post confirmations, questions or rants!

I hope you all have a blast and that the weather goes your way!

Once again, you can count me in if there's enough interest.

I will have to see what may arise between now and then. I will keep the 27th on the schedule and see what comes of it.

I have the same answer as Craig, not sure what might come up between now and then for the holiday. I will let you know.

Saturday, 11/20/04, is turning out to be an anti-Z day. Rain, snow, you name it- we wouldn't have gone to PMI today for a LOT of reasons.

Sorry that Gary, Chris, Don and others can't make it next weekend. Let's hope we're not in a weather pattern that creates bad weather for the weekends (and cross those fingers once again). I'll post again later in the week...

Default Saturday, November 27th cancellation

After reviewing several of the latest weather forcasts, this Saturday's HPDE will NOT go. Unfortunately, another cold front is projected to bring snow tomorrow (Friday) to the front range which will extend south. Some forcasts say Saturday will have scattered snow, others say it will simply be cold (high of 38 degrees F). All agree that this storm front could bring significant snow across the southern and central plains by Sunday.

These decisions to cancel are not taken lightly. They are based on not only what the weather may be at the track, but also on what we'll face on the way there and back. I'd rather not have our group face icy/snowy patches of road up or down Monument Hill (I've done it on R-compound tires in a full snowstorm and it's not ANY fun). We'lI continue to strive for a structured environment (including the trip to and from the track) where everyone has a safe and fun time learning about their Zs.

I'm not going to attempt to reschedule any other HPDE dates at this point. The weather at this time of year doesn't cooperate very well and we may all be better off skiing or riding the snow rather than fighting it. I'll close on Thanksgiving Day with a wish that everbody enjoys the holiday with their family and friends. I'm thankful to have met each one of you and look forward to our next meeting!

Dave, Thanks for the holiday wishes. I hope you're holidays are enjoyable and full of good cheer as well. I'll be seeing you at the Dec, Z club meeting. I'm looking forward to hearing some words of wisdom from you. I have some specific questions concerning brake upgrades so study up. I'm going to do an upgrade after the holidays to get ready for next springs track events. The brakes come first then I'll do as you suggested and upgrade some suspension bits.

Craig
