Another victim to the F'in rain..
HYDROLOCKED my freaking engine.. i live in belmont shores in long beach and i drove through a lake/puddle that went over my hood almost.. it was inevitable and i could not avoid it.. anyways i'm sad and thanks for the support for the z owner who drove by as i sorted out the aftermath of my car.. the water was up half the door.. we'll see what insurance does, but i doubt i'll have a 350z in a week.. i'll keep my fingers crossed.. anyways heres a before picture:

so far from what i'm getting is that my car's gonna end up totalled.. it's on its way to my dad's body shop and we'll see from there, but they were saying that going by the height of the water, it will be totalled.. i'll keep you guys posted.. this sucks!

Not trying to be an ***, but what possessed you to try to drive through water that deep? Better to back out and go the long way home than risk this. I hope comprehensive covers it for you.

sorry to hear man. I hydrolocked my car last year but somehow the engine survived and its still running fine till this day. Is your whole interior flooded? I remember they had to replace the carpet in mines and what not.

it was a one way street in belmont shore, and the puddle didnt look deep till i got to the middle of the intersection when the water was up real high.. if i could have avoided it, believe me i would have..

I also went through a puddle the last storm we had (like a month ago)... it was inevitable...
a huge puddle right after an exit... (you can't reverse into the freeway... nor should you break.... other cars are exiting as well... ) The Exit was closed off later on that morning...
i had no choice but to go through it... and surprisingly... it survived... my carpet was soaked a bit... but not too bad...
HOPE THE RAINS DONE...

did your insurance cover it? and do you remember how much it cost?? i'm just worried about all the electrical stuff being damaged, not to mention my engine.

wow with that kind of rain there's no way i'd be driving. the electronics on my moms car got screwed up after there was a lot of rain and she unknowingly drove into a huge puddle of water. if i remember correctly it was something like 2k to replace and i dont remember if it was covered under insurance or not.
