Default Windows Tinting (bubble)???

Guys,

I just had my windows tinted at California Tint today. One of the small windows on the side has dots (looks like bubble). Is this normal during the next few days?

Btw, they took the rear wiper off and didn't put the cap (the piece go over the screw/nut) back tightenly so it was making noise. I pulled over and noticed the cap was about to fall off

yes, it is normal for small bubbles.... you need to leave it out in the sun to "dry" if they don't go away though, you need to take it back... if there are some bubbles that looked oversized, take an object like a small squeegy, creditcard something that you can take to smooth out the bubble and push the water out of that area...

DBZCAT,

Should I attempt to use the credit card to take out the bubble now while it is stilll in the early stage or just wait? Its been only like 5hours.

The size is dot-like , but a few of them in the glass.

dot like, how big? like a pen dot you could make with a sharpee persay?

there are going to be several dots throught the glass/tint... let it sit in the sun all day tomorrow those small dots should go away... bigger than this smiley face?

Cat,

Yea, dots like a pen point (dot you could make with a sharpee persay).

My friend brought his bmw in today at the same place. Somehow the rear window tint was not perfect, near the rear brake light (large bubble). He had to bring the car back.

Btw, I have the same rims and color (haha). Good taste.

I think you are fine with those size bubbles. if they don't go away then take it back! just make sure final product is perfect! give it 2 days in the sun before you start to get worried

haha, cool.. those colors look great together don't they!?

Yep. You'll be fine. It's just a some trapped moisture. Like Cat said, you just need to leave your car under the sun & it should go away in about a week. You need to do this so that the sun can heat up your windows to dry out the moisture.

I went to the garage and tried to flatten the bubble with my thumb (haha- I actually can feel the lump).

On the invoice it says SP. The shop quoted me 115 bucks, but I upgraded.

Bubbles are completely normal don't touch them. I tried to tell that to a guy here at work but the tint guy had given him a little squeegee so he figured he should use it. Neeless to say he F'd up his windows and had to have them redone.

<edit>
Oh, I paid $100 to get mine done with 13% and am having the front window done in 35% for $75 on Thursday. Sun is just too damn hot here.

Anyone that wants to get better than legal (22% here in FL I think) can get a medical waiver just by going to your doctor and saying the sun hurts your eyes and skin. I guess it depends on your doctor but I would make sure you say the sun hurts your skin too or they might just tell you to get dark shades. I can't find the link for the form now but will post it when I get home.

Guys,

I came back today and the shop agreed it was a bad job with the quarter panel. The shop was opened at 9 a.m. and I came at 9:15 a.m. and they already had a line of car ahead (wtf).

I am coming back there early tomorrow.

Wow, this form was hard as hell to find again. I don't think the State wants anyone to find it.

Cal Tint did a great job on mine as well. Just let it dry for a week or so. (I didn't open my windows for 2 weeks just in case) and they are perfect after 2 yrs.
